I think Mr Gao of YC Pens on E-Bay (who incidentally pops up here every now and again) would be one you could trust too.

If you bought it through E-Bay then comeon1788/combinedshipping would be OK. However, out of e-bay on one of his other sites, then he sells fake MB's etc. So I'd be wary of him without the e-bay reputation business to keep him supplying the correct goods.

Regards,

Richard

Richard,

YC Pens is run by Richard Guo, not Gao; a totally trustworthy vendor, he should be able to offer the real deal.

No, I am not going to list my pens here.

I have bought a few pens from YC Pens, and i have to say that the pens i received were not in a great condition- one had a missing piece from the body(was chipped), another seemed to be a pre-production model, because the finish on it was rough etc.

I have nothing against the man, but personally i`m not too happy with the pens i bought from him.

I've had good luck with YC Pens, Pokkydady and comeon1788/combinedshipping, Keep in mind they sell the pens very cheap and in large volumes. They all state they will take care of customers, so shoot them an e-mail and see if they can help. They might send you another pen or the money back.

Pokkydady and combinedshipping are trustworthy, i`m actually totally pleased with their products and service.

I haven`t complained to YC pens because well, i bought these pens cheap, I don`t want to take advantage of the seller by asking another pen, since the ones that i received worked fine, although not in perfect condition.

On the other hand, if he really cared about pleasing me as a customer, he wouldn`t have send me a pen with a chipped cap to begin with. It takes 30 seconds to visually inspect a pen before putting it in the envelope.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
