Thank you JLS1! Tummy is filled with food again, all is well today :D

Writing sample, though I do not know how to write to best show the nib, so this is just my everyday scrawl:

You are such a wonderful gang! Thank you all sooo much! I must read and answer better tomorrow, been awake for 23 hours now. Just couldn't stop tracking the pen, and then it arrived, and then and then and then.. :D Big nighty night hugs from Bells :) :) :)

It is, indeed, a gorgeous pen, and you have taken splendid photos of it!

Somehow, I have the notion that you rather like it too. ;)

Congratulations, Trax!

More pics of the nib & more writing, please? That is the nib I think I'd want if I could stand my fingers on the threads. I thought I'd like the blue & silver best. And then I saw yours.

Congratulations! It looks fantastic and I aspire to your scrawl. :D

Thank you Simon73! It's readable at least. :D Gonna start answering letters today, long overdue! Hope my penpals are still with me :)

+1. Glad to see that you're writing with the new Nakaya AND you've had a good meal!

(How are the Nakayas getting along? No fights yet? ;) )

Thank you JLS1! The customs/tax bill was a little lower than expected so I went food shopping immediately after picking up the pen :D

My unpolished Shu Naka-ai feels abit underdressed at the moment, but I comfort it by telling it that the unpolished finish feels alot more organic and expensive than the housoge finish which does feel more plasticky to the touch :)

I have also calmed down the Shu by telling it I will see if I can have a nib change made to it later so if possible, it can have a music nib too ;) (In rose gold plating if that exists!)

Thank you, Ehemem! No cats in the house, just an italian greyhound who does have very smooth ink drinking silky skin, I suppose. But I'll promise not to write on him :D

I will start on your letter tonight, on normal paper though. I've run out of prank ideas, but just you wait, I'll come up with something later :D

Hooray!

And WOW! That is a seriously gorgeous Nakaya!

Thank you Ethernautrix, and also thank you for your neverending Nakaya inspiration that had alot of say in me getting these pens :)

I write at a very high angle too, and as I recall we also both like our No Nonsense pen from Sheaffer. It is a great relief to find pens that work great in high angles :) :) :)

Thank you Pen Nut, I had no luck photographing the nib yesterday. Will try soon! It is alot flatter or crisper however you call it than my BB stub. So there wasn't much sticking out from the nib to photograph. The BB stub has much more "form/shape" to it. :)

MongrelNomad: Thank you also for your drooling icons :D Hugs! I love those drooling icons, they are so versatile and needed on this forum ;)

Thank you David! I really love the pen. I did not click this well with the BB stub nib on my other Nakaya so I had kind of placed Nakaya nibs in a slightly above "so-so" category, though Mottishaw did a wonderful job setting it up for my impossible writing angle (and giving it personality). My BB stub is very particular about paper, which is why it hasn't seen as much use as it deserves. But this music nib seems to thrive on all kinds of paper. :)

The back ground for the pen is just a bunch of wax flowers I had lying in a window. Suddenly came to me that the colors would complement the Housoge finish nicely :)

Thank you GhostPlane! I will see if I can get some more photos later. Had no luck when I tried photographing the nib yesterday and gave up ;)

The blue and silver finish is really really elegant! I am just such a freezing cold shivering need an indoor sauna to stay warm kind of person, so I get cold just looking at that cool blue color. :D And that is the only reason I did not concider that beauty. I've had many telling me they prefer the blue and silver :)

Thank you EarthDawn! I never thought the day would come, or worse I knew it would come and feared I would not be ready economically.

I really messed up economy these past 6 months, sooo many unforeseen things happened, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

As the day came near my Mom told me if needed she would lend me money, so I could have a down payment to her through spring. I felt like such a mess-up but luckily she will not need to lend me for the pen. But she has helped me on so many other occasions through this year so I managed to add a Pilot Stargazer to the order, had it setup for her writing preferences and gave that to her as a surprise for sticking with me through it all :) She loves tiny pens (her daily writer is a Sailor Chalana) superthin nibs and blue colors. And she loved the Stargazer F nib while she did not find my Music nib very pleasurable to write with.. It's a good thing we're all different! :D

Sorry for the bad lighting, wrong color representation etc etc.. And the big pictures.. A comparison between the music stub cursive italic on the Housoge and the BB stub on the unpolished Shu. The music nib has nothing sticking out from it, unlike the BB that has a definite form/foot on the nib.

Will see about writing comparison later. My camera gear suddenly has IQ barriers all over it.. Me and my Canon are not friends today. ;)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
