Hello fellow FPN'ers

It seems like the Indian online shopping site www.flipkart.com is selling Kaweco Sport Classics and what they have listed as the ICE variant (looks like a transparent demonstrator). They seem to have a lot of other Fountain Pens on sale too.

The reason I'm posting this topic is because I have been trying to get my hands on a Kaweco Sport for a while now and was completely oblivious to this service Flipkart was providing. Do anyone of you have any experience buying pens off Flipkart?? Would you'll advise that I go ahead with the buy?

Looking for your opinions. :)

Im posting the link for you'll to check out

Yes, I've purchased Kaweco Sport pens from them. Their service is usually rather prompt. My only gripe with them is that their interface makes it a little difficult to choose the right pen with the right nib size. You click at a listing and read the description to know the nib size. You'll need to click various listings till you find the right nib size that you're looking for.

I don't know anything about Flipkart, but I have bought a Kaweco Ice from JetPens - 23.50 US. http://www.jetpens.com/Fountain-Pens/ct/214?ip=24&f=c2311f633954df09

They have great service and they are fast.

Franklin-Christoph, Italix, and Pilot pens are the best!
Iroshizuku, Diamine, and Waterman inks are my favorites!

Apica, Rhodia, and Clairefontaine make great paper!

  • 3 weeks later...

I had placed an order for the Ice, but cancelled it once I found out about the Lamy stores in Mumbai.
The customer service would be easier here, and it would also be easier to get certain parts for the pen (The converter for example)

Also, if the nib isn't smooth, there isn't really anything you can do.. Whereas Lamy would change it for you.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
