Have you been affected by the flooding? I contacted my hotel and they tell me that they are OK, but I have been unable to contact Via Rail to make sure that I will be able to get int the city. The news channels say nothing about cleanup etc.

Haven't been on FPN in a while, and I come back to find out there's a new B&M store in the city! This is great - I'll have to stop by sooner rather than later. :)

Just received my second order from Wonder Pens. When you're there have a look at the Life Japanese notebooks. The paper is fantastic. This time I ordered Blackwing pencils and a pencil sharpener. Amazing. Now what will I do with all my fountain pens? :yikes:  :gaah:

P.S. Wonderpens as an online store  Someday when I'm in Toronto I will venture forth and check out the B and M store. :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

Just got my first order from Wonder Pens! A Platinum Plaisir (with matching converter), and a bottle of R&K's Solferino (as I've been wanting a pinkish-purple ink for a while). Both made it just fine to my end of the country, and I'll definitely be buying more in the future, since I noticed that you guys have lots of Noodler's. :D

I'm writing an online serial thing. It's urban fantasy. And I have no idea how long it's going to run for.

I visited the store a few days ago and picked up some Solferino, G. Lalo paper and envelopes and a fluorescent yellow Lamy Safari. What a lovely place and delightful proprietor. Liz is really helpful and knowledgeable. The store has a lovely intimate feel to it and you can try pens and inks before purchase, so that you know what you are getting. I need to make excuses to get back into the city so that I can visit again. If you are able to get into Toronto, I definitely recommend a visit.

I've just received my first order! Super-quick shipping, excellent packaging, and they included a complimentary Field Notes notebook! I'm so happy that this store exists!

By the way, did you know they now offer INK SAMPLES?

Life's too short for bad paper.

Stopped by yesterday. Can't wait to see this store fully stocked! They have some nice stuff. Good competitive prices as well. Must be the only store in Toronto that has Noodlers ink in stock.

I'm glad you like your nib...although I'm still a little perplexed at how you pulled the Kaweco nib out of the section so easily!

  • 2 weeks later...

Another satisfied customer here, I recieved my order from Wonder Pens yesterday evening =).

There's a few more items I'd like to buy but I'd rather buy it when I visit shop. Despite my office being so close to the actual shop I haven't had a chance to visit yet due to work. Blah.

Another happy customer here. Order placed on a Sunday was in my mailbox Tuesday, expertly packaged with a handwritten thank you card. Can't expect any better than that. Keep up the good work Wonderpens.

Thanks so much! We really appreciate it.

Yes, this coughing seems a bit contagious these days...

We are working on Diamine :) If you have any specific requests or suggestions for need-to-carry colours, please pass them on!

Oooo... Diamine....

My top choices and all time favorites were/are: Red Dragon, Oxblood, Damson, Eclipse

No other ink brand does these very unique in-between colours quite as well as Diamine.

This conversation is making me wish I needed more ink. On the subject of in between, Diamine Poppy is not a true red, but in between red and orange.

Another happy customer here! Just received my order of inks, journals and samples :) All nicely packaged. Solferino is just as lovely as I'd hoped! Still trying to get my Parker 45 to behave though so I can use my new Noodler's Black with it.

On the topic of new products...any plans to carry some minor tuning supplies? Like loupes and the like?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
