Is This A Hero Pen And If So, Can You Tell Me More About It?

Hi! I am hoping you can help me out with a puzzle of a pen I have. I inherited a few fountain pens from my mom, and I have identified almost all of them. One pen, which I am sure she picked up at a garage sale, came in a Hero box. It has MX marked on the clip, and Star, along with some Chinese characters, marked on the nib. The pen is 5 1/4 inches long capped. It has a squeeze filler. I have tried to google info on the pen as well as using the search function here, but I have had no luck. If anyone can shed some light on this pen, I would greatly appreciate it.

I can't ensure whether it's HERO or not ,But i saw many brands fountain pen 's looks like it .DUKE also have a model looks that .But i forgot the product 's name .

It`s a chinese parker vector :D

 

By the way, the symbols on the nib do not seem to mach the ones on my hero pens(placed on caps).

Thank you Vivisay and Rochester21! I was suspicious about it being a Hero when I couldn't find anything when I searched for it. The pen has a decent fine nib and a nice weight to it. So it will remain my mystery Chinese pen.

I don't think it is a Hero pen. There is no Hero logo on the body or on the nib. The words on the nib is not "Hero". The design of this pen is similar to some Hero old models. The brand is called MingXing (shining star). I don't know why the pen is kept in a "Hero" box.

I think Richard nails it: it is a "Star", and the Parker Vector has seen plenty of homages too. I am not surprised to see another one which came from the ROC.

Thank you ycpen and Seele for the additional comments! I am very happy to know the name of the brand - MingXing. :) As I mentioned, my mom picked it up at a garage sale, so I would guess the former owner just put the pen in the empty Hero box for the sale. I am using it now, so it won't be kept in the Hero box any longer.

It's a pleasure. Seele is correct. Many Chinese pen manufacturers follow Parker.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
