One Is A Waterman But Is The Other?

I have had a Waterman Jules Verne pen since the late 90s and this week found what looked like a white version of this pen. It has a very solid plastic cap and barrel. Virtually bomb proof. It is a fine writer and has the same nib as a slim chrome Waterman that was "borrowed" some years back.

The barrel is an unusual Pentagonal shape

This will need a little more rinsing when the ink softens. I may even try it as an ink dropper.

I'm fairly stunned to see this with the 1970s logo on it. It is definitely a Waterman, and that shape has a much longer span than I'd imagined and it looks like mine is a slightly up-scale version:

Do either of yours have any more marks on them than the logo and the point size? Mine is extremely shy, not even admitting to where it's made.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's got exactly the same model name as the Sheaffer "student" pen; which is not a name so much as a shrug of the shoulders.

Hi Ernst

The only other mark is the single word "France" on the cap of both pens. The clue may also be in the completely French packaging.

Is your pen clip just a metal cover over the plastic clip?

Still, I am filled with admiration at the depth of knowledge from this group of dedicated group.

The clip is actually a pretty slick item given the far-from-grand aspect of the whole; there's a little rail, like a stub of the surfboard clips on your pair, which a spring-loaded mounting slips onto. The clip itself will open to about 15 degrees, so it will grab some pretty thick pockets.
