This is a side-by-side comparison of three of the Diamine Greys.

In order top to bottom on the scan...

1. Grey, a mid-grey with a neutral tone.

2. Graphite, a dark grey with a slight hint of green.

3. Jet Black, a black that, with the right pen, can behave as a dark grey. There are many "blacker" blacks now and folks do mention this when dark greys are needed.

All three inks were scanned from their own pieces of paper at the same time then moved about in Photoshop.

Excellent comparison. Especially these three, all from one and the same company.

I'm happy to see that you, too, have unveiled the -- however slight -- greenliness of the Graphite.

The greenness was obvious when washing the remnants out of the converter.

I was surprised by how much the Jet Black bled on copy paper (Pukka 80gsm Everyday White) but then again it was never intended for use with fountain pens. Both the Graphite and Jet Black even bled a little on Rhodia - there were occasional little pinpricks visible on the back where I had dotted Is.

Then again my pen has been set for very wet flow and is scrupulously clean. It was fitted with a new feed by Onoto recently so I am finding long dry times and much wetter flow. It does mean that it can handle very dry laid papers without skipping however.

I have updated my post on page three of the British Ink Exchange with my newly available colours. I do have a couple that are not on that list yet but they will be within a week or so.

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Reminds me of the day my associates and I developed a cure for all mankind's ills and mistakenly wrote it down with invisible ink.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
