#07 LEE is safe and sound in the pen cabinet, awaiting a couple pens to run out of ink before the first inking here, likely this week. It's a beaut, with outstanding grain variation in the briar swirl. Thank you very much, Brian.

I got my #39 LEA last Monday. It is a wonderful pen. I think I know where I might be doing some more collecting now. The 1.1 nib is great too. I have Liberty's Elysium in it right now and it lays down a wonderful line.

#48 LEE has been used every day since it arrived: looks great, writes great. Now I just need to figure out the proper use for ye olde bonus chunk.

My Briar Swirl # 10, filled with Levenger Cocoa Brown, has seen daily use for the past week. I bought mine with the 1.1 italic nib. The pen is beautiful to look at, and a pleasure to use. Thanks, Brian!

My LEE Briar Swirl #05 arrived last Monday. The grain is beautiful. Inked up with Waterman's Serenity Blue and writing with it daily. It works great and it smells good too. I'm looking forward to joining the 2014 FPN Group Buy. Maybe a LE Extended Mina?

I've been enjoying my #5 LEA Morgan all week. I inked it with Noodler's Cayenne, which plays off the Neon stripe perfectly! The EF nib is a delight.

#38 LEE here. Been using it with my LEA 2012 Pearl

 

That's my roster (but I also have the 2013 Badger & Blade Herald Grande).

 

Since I'm posting again, what brown ink are people having success with? I found Noodler's Burma Road Brown a bit dry and went to Noodler's Rome Burning. I found it to be way too light in color (and then remembered I made up a sample with just a couple drops of black in it to darken it). Has anybody tried perhaps Herbin Cacao du Bresil?

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
