Wonderful update Brian. Was just thinking that when I get my pen I'll probably go neck to these pics to try and locate it in the group shots based on the orange striping. Pretty nerdy but I'm sure I'm not the only person that will be doing that. :-)

In the end, I'm sure that I'll have a "complete lineup" shot. So you might be able to locate your pen that way.

Hahaha - I was thinking the exact same thing when I was looking through those pictures. You can count me in your nerd tally. :)

Yeah, I am falling in love with this Neon material from the shots. I love how the orange is on some of the threads on some of the pens. I'm sure when the ebonite pics happen I'll fall in love with it, too.

That bonus chunk is just going to be the icing on the cake, fantastic !

Wow that is great about the bonus chunk.

The pens look fantastic so far. The lighter bits on the black acrylic seem sort of pearlescent ?

Can't wait to see the ebonite pens start! This whole process is so intriguing.

No, that's not blood. That's Noodler's Antietam.

Correct. The Neon is pearlized, so it will have a lot of depth. You can't really photograph this very well, but you'll understand when you hold then pen in your hand and rotate it.

Also Ebonite is schedule to be here Tuesday! Now of course, customs delays can happen, so hopefully Tuesday!

Keeping my fingers crossed that you don't have to go through the headache of customs delays or anything like that. :D

Usually ebonite goes through without problems. We'll see.

I can imagine there will be an awful lot of holding and rotating - gazing at the patterns.

Just hope there isn't a subliminal message "buy Edison pens" embedded in there behind the orange neon threads.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
