Just wanna share something to you guys. for those looking for a fountain pen friendly , simple looking and affordable notebook indonesia, you can grab the front notebooks from gramedia , it costs just around 20000++ for the a6 one (154 pages) , 36000 for the a5 one (96 pages) and the 154 sheets a5 notebook cost around 46000 if i remember correctly, it's a really nice notebook honestly , no feathering, no bleedthrough, smooth and looks kinda professional and easily found in indonesia. But the paper smells kinda funny though...post-127757-0-06966300-1456243806_thumb.jpegpost-127757-0-25440900-1456243823_thumb.jpegpost-127757-0-07125500-1456243883_thumb.jpeg

this is the exact notebook that I use for meeting

but I don't really like the bigger one because the paper is thinner than this (I think), and it's more expensive too

@jeremychris

yeah someone in the forum have used the brand they sell @ tokopedia and have bad result. they stick due to the compound in them.

i'm guessing they are not 100% silicone grease?

Hi all, I'm new here and from Surabaya. Have been use FP for around 1 year, and I love it. Glad to find community in Indonesia. It's so hard to find FP variety in Indonesia... Same with Wendywu, I'm looking for a flex pen, where I can find it in Surabaya? Some shops I know are TGA and Gramedia don't sell it.

Cheers,

Yeah i had to ask a few shops before locating one.

I used it on my m1005 demonstrator. Yeah opened up the piston. Dismantled everything, soaked it for a few days. Still have a little residue on it, but doesnt bother me too much.

It's pretty easy to dismantle. The golden rule is not to force anything. Everything is fitted nicely.

Btw, anyone here ever ordered any Pens from abroad? (Amazon or other websites) because I'm trying to order a Waterman Perspective and a Lamy 2000 from amazon, but the Customs (bea cukai) situation in Indonesia is really Unclear and i don't want to get an extra 1 Million in tax for these already expensive pens.

So, anyone who have ordered a pen From amazon or from other websites, do you have any trouble with Indonesian customs or not?

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
