Just wanna share something to you guys. for those looking for a fountain pen friendly , simple looking and affordable notebook indonesia, you can grab the front notebooks from gramedia , it costs just around 20000++ for the a6 one (154 pages) , 36000 for the a5 one (96 pages) and the 154 sheets a5 notebook cost around 46000 if i remember correctly, it's a really nice notebook honestly , no feathering, no bleedthrough, smooth and looks kinda professional and easily found in indonesia. But the paper smells kinda funny though...attachicon.gifimage.jpegattachicon.gifimage.jpegattachicon.gifimage.jpeg

this is the exact notebook that I use for meeting

but I don't really like the bigger one because the paper is thinner than this (I think), and it's more expensive too

hi guys, do you see any of plain paper for this notebook? I finished my Muji dotpad already. going to find another notebook hehe

I notice that there were posts asking about Pilot Justus 95. I have the F nib. The nib does flex, however not as flexible as vintage flex nibs. Maybe more comparable to Pilot Falcon/Elabo in term of flex. The tension adjuster is there to control how easy it is to flex the nib, though you can still do some flexing in the hard mode. And the ink flow is dryer on hard mode, which is handy if you're writing with cheap paper as it feathers less. I would say that it is a nice gimmick to have.

Here is the writing sample using the flex mode:

Hi! Just found this thread, thought I'd join in on the conversation, since I'm in Jakarta as well...

I'm currently waiting for some Rotring Graphos in the mail. Yes, I know this isn't really a fountain pen, just wondering if anyone local has any experience with them :)

Hi, I'm from Indonesia.

I'm currently using some Lamy EF nib, Pilot Metropolitan F nib, Pilot Kakuno, and Pilot Prera F nib.

I'm so happy to find this community.

Hi all,

I have just noticed that this thread exist here. I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia too. I have been using a fountain pen since in elementary school, due to a fortunate misunderstanding between me and the teacher.

I am interested if there's any shop in Jakarta that specialise in Fountain Pens, not those boutiques or stalls at Gramedia. So if you do know a thing or two about it, let me know, please.

My Fountain Pen portfolio is as follow:

Faber Castell Basic Carbon: Fine

Parker Vector: Medium

Pelikan 400nn: Fine

Pilot 78G: Coarse

Pilot Custom 74: SFM

Pilot Justus 95: Fine

TWSBI 580 Rose Gold: Extra Fine

Wahl Eversharp Skyline Vintage: Fine

Ink in collection:

Parker Quink Black --> haven't been using it for more than 20 years. Found it among my old stationery and books.

Waterman Serenity Blue

Noodler's Liberty Elysium

Sailor Nano Kiwa Guro

Sailor Nano Sei Boku

Rohrer & Klingner Salix

Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine --> Not in use. Freebie from Pelikan Hub 2016: Perth, Australia.

I am looking forward to see you guys when I have a chance to go back to Indonesia for a holiday.

Regards,

Rakka G.

Hi all!

Am I the only one from Jakarta/Indonesia having an interest in pens?

Maybe I find some pen lovers in the "Big Durian" (nick name for Jakarta) to chit chat or even meet.

Best regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,

I am vishnu and I am here in Jakarta. I am a collector of writing instruments in general and fountain pens in particular. We can catch up. Please let me have your contact details.

Cheers,

Vishnu

Hi,

I will be relocating from Singapore to Jakarta starting next month. Is there any community or such for Jakarta Fountain Pen Lovers? Maybe we should start a Facebook group.

Anyway, I went ahead and create the FB group called Indonesia Fountain Pen Lovers, link here https://www.facebook.com/groups/350595141962175/

Great! I just clicked join on that group. Still waiting for the approvement. I moved from Jakarta to Rotterdam two months ago to continue my study. I was lucky to have the chance to visit Akkerman in The Hague. I bought a Lamy Logo there. Now I'm ordering a parker jotter fountain pen which I have never seen in Jakarta. I hope it will arrive very soon.

Hello!

I'm also from Indonesia, thought I'm not exactly from Jakarta. It's really too bad there isn't many Indonesian community for fountain pens, so I joined the Facebook groups right away :D I hope I can learn some stuff about fountain pen in Indonesia.

Since I just started fancying fountain pen last year, I only have Pilot Metropolitan and Pilot Penmanship in hand. Inks are Pilot Black and Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Kai. I'm interested with fountain pen with flex nib but ones I found have ridiculous prices for me as a college student.

Cheers!

Does anyone know a good place that restores/repairs fountain pens in Indonesia?

All I know of is Bali's Mavoir Pen Hospital in Instagram.

Hello, just recently joined too.

Though I hail from Jakarta, I have been staying in Bandung for quite some time since I'm enrolling in the university in Bandung.

So far, I only see Shaeffer and Parker stands in Bandung. Hopefully when I have time to visit Jakarta, I can browse for higher end models, that is if I manage to save enough money to buy them.

I'm very new to this (in fact, 5 days). All that time, powered by Procrastination, spent on YouTube for fountain pen essentials.

Will add on the Facebook page later.

Cheers !

From what I remember, there are some other good stands in Bandung. In the Merdeka Gramedia there is a Faber-Castell stand, although the selection is small and limited. And I think Graf von Faber-Castell, Faber-Castell, and Lamy can be found in Paris van Java's Gramedia. They're all quite rare stands, only available in select Gramedia stores.

The Merdeka branch used to sell Pelikans too ;)

Hello everyone!

I've been a fountain pen user since 2010 but only found this forum recently. Glad to see there are other aficionados here in Indonesia =). I currently live in Jakarta where i have been since 2010, after a long time away abroad. Its great to see that since 2010 the market for fountain pens and related items is steadily growing.

My current pen collection is:

1. Faber Castell E-Motion black EF

2. Lamy CP 1 EF

3. Lamy Studio F

4. Montblanc 146 F

5. (very soon) Lamy 2000 EF.

My ink lineup at the moment is:

1. Lamy black

2. Lamy blue black

3. J Herbin Perle Noire

4. Pilot Iroshizuku Take Sumi

5. Pilot Iroshizuku Asa Gao

6. Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black

7. Montblanc blue black

8. Montblanc mystery black

9. Noodler's X-Feather.

Hope to swap knowledge and useful tips about fountain pen in Indonesia esp on the best place and venue for acquisition etc.

Out of curiosity, isn't also there an fb group and a kaskus group? If so, would anyone mind sharing the links? And hope to meet some if not all of you in the time to come... =D

Best,

Indra

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
