2013 LE Morgan Acrylic

  1. 1. Which Acrylic?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone.

It looks like the Briar Swirl is the clear winner when it comes to ebonite.

If you are not sure what I'm referring to, please go here....

http://www.fountainp..._1#entry2627333

However, due to the fact that everyone had to vote on two materials, the acrylic results are not very definitive. Besides, as of now, Midnight and Cappuccino are exactly tied.

So let's do a quick poll just for acrylic.

Let's leave this open for 3 days. I think that this is enough time to get a definitive answer.

The results of this poll will be counted on Thursday the 21st at 9:00 am EST.

Then we'll start the buying period.

So the choices are....

Neon

Midnight

Cappuccino Flake

Toffee Crunch

Blue/Gold Striated

Thanks!

Hi Brian

Do you think it might be an idea to eliminate the lowest interest choice then see where those votes go?

Adrienne (I may go for both!! ie Ebonite and Acrylic)

Honestly, I'd rather not. There were a lot of people who were pretty passionate about the materials to didn't finish well in the last poll. I'd like all 5 to be represented with those people in mind.

Hi Everyone.

(EDIT - sorry, I misspelled "Morgan" in the title of this thread, but can't change it!)

I like it! Mor-gain: We gain more pens for us and Brian gains more business! It's more gain for everyone!

Yippee!!

The more I know about computers, the more I like my pens.

I voted as I want to have a choice between the acrylic and the ebonite which will depend on final price for the ebonite pen as my preferred ebonite won!

I'll announce this officially when it's time to purchase, but the ebonite pen will be $190. Now that the material is finalized, I can confirm this now.

I would not buy Neon or Toffee Crunch, the other 3 I will consider but would prefer not Cappuccino Flake as I already have this in another pen. I will buy the Briar Swirl Ebonite as I did vote for that.

I have a dislike for browns. Since the ebonite is "brownish" it would nice to get a grey or blue. Cappuccino is nice but brownish in color. Midnight is my vote.

Change is not mandatory, Survival is not required.

The Midnight is a very nice color- I like it on the Glenmont Special Edition from last year, which is why I voted for the Cappucino. I really would not want two pens with the same color, even though the configuration is different.

The browns don't do it for me.. The blue is the only own i would be thrilled to own. I would maybe consider the neon but it would be a maybe. I have too many black pens otherwise that would have been a second choice

I'm definitely in for a Briar Swirl. If Neon is the acrylic, I'm 99.99% sure I'll get that one too. Cappuccino Flake and Blue Striated are maybes. Midnight and Toffee are definitely out for me. I like Midnight but I already have the Glenmont Stealth LE which is in Midnight. And Toffee is just plain ugly to me.

I'm not going to vote for this as I will be purchasing a Briar Swirl....but I hope all of the rest of you get the color you want!

Ditto here. Barring something here winning that just knocks me out with the actual prototype, I will very likely be going Briar Swirl and therefore will not vote here. I am rooting for the blue/gold striated.

I'm going to refrain from my vote on this one as I'm 85% positive that I'm going for the Briar Swirl. Unless Midnight wins and I sway over to the dark side - or I keep looking at the gold furniture too much on the Briar.

Brian!

Love your pens and can't wait to add a LE Morgan to the fold!

It seems the voting is still open on the original thread... I may be mistaken, but it looks like since I last checked (3/18 late PM) Midnight has pulled ahead of Cappuccino. Are those new votes going to count? I'm pulling for the Midnight.

Brian, if two acrylics end in a tie (or within 1 or 2 votes) will you offer both?

The poll is still open because I can't close it, but the results from the deadline are what I counted. The only result from that poll that matters is that we are using Briar Swirl. I'm not counting votes from the acrylic portion of that poll towards anything.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
