Thanks Shawn, I wasn't sure I sent my order request to the right email address. I will await for a reply. I hope there is enough ink left to fill my order :( .

Charlie

There is lots of inks. Don't worry about it. Check the first post, it was updated last week with totals of ink left.

Unless you are ordering 50+ bottles...

I'm curious. In these days of eBay Stores, why are we doing sales via email?

Off the top of my head:

Easier to keep non-members out of the sale?

eBay doesn't get to keep any of the money?

AFAIK:

To set up a automated store (ebay or stand alone) requires some heavy duty hardware, while the system FPN is hosted on is already creaking in it's seams...

Believe me, knowing WimG, as soon as he can do something an easier way he'll do it asap.

Or maybe I don't understand the procedure, being very new to the group That's very possible. I received an email and paid by PayPal. But I didn't receive any pink or blue paperwork. Help?

No paperwork, an email with an orderform in pdf format, which has a pinkish background, and which mentions which paypal account to pay for. Once it is paid, we need to process (manually) all payments and prepare the pro forma invoices (for tax and legal purposes). The invoice form has a bluish background, and is also sent to you in pdf format. Then the shipping forms are created (well, simultaneously with the invoice forms). There is a time delay between payment and invoice form, essentially because we can only handle up to about 20 orders a week.

If you have paid recently, you should get an update soon.

In case you want the current status on your order, contact me backchannel please with your order number as listed on the order form. I'll gladly give you a personal update, but we cannot link Member IDs (user names) to the orders.

HTH, warm regards, Wim

Yes, there was. We are up to date with the (pro forma) invoices and shipments. New order forms will be created again the upcoming week.

More measures to combat spammers has a slightly higher priority, however, I do hope you will all understand.

Furthermore, due to handling of the packages outside of our control, and people expecting intact packages and labels, plus the rather high cost of packaging materials, we are forced to increase the price of our inks. Essentially, we are adding insurance to the price.

We will make an announcement about this today.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
