Oh please don't spill it... ah what do I care. It's not my carpet.

:P

Of course, originally I was kidding about spilling a drop.

Sure enough, about the third pen fill in, just as the nib was exiting the bottle, I sneezed. A nice dollop of very dark blue ran down the bottle, soaking into the left side of the label.

How will we know when the next shipment of inks arrive. I am waiting till they are in hand before I begin to order. Any Liter sizes available? smile.gif

I received my bottle of Van Gogh Starry Night a couple of weeks ago. It's one of the nicest dark blue inks I've used! I have it in two pens right now (it's very rare for me to put the same ink in two pens at the same time) and am enjoying it immensely. The shading is very nice as is its flow and water-resistance. Hooray for the FPN inks! Hooray for Wim's and Shawn's hard work!

The next batch of ink has been shipped to us on Friday. Liter sizes, yes, that is 11 bottles ;).

My VGSN bottle arrived today! Shawn posted on Saturday that he'd mailed out a bunch more but I didn't really expect it for another couple of days, so this was a very pleasant surprise. Yay for the US Postal Service. Dipped a pen in it and wrote a few lines, wow, it's so dark blue it's almost black but not when you see the shading.

Now which pen, which pen?

Thank you Wim and Shawn! Am looking forward to the next round to get a bottle of the Tulipe too.

Order #1100 arrived last Friday. I am happy now I had been waiting to try VGSN for almost 2 years!

Now I guess I'll wait until the other two are back in stock and pick up one of each!

Thanks a bunch!

Hi,

Is there any chance of getting an update on invoice #1052? It seems quite a long time since payment, and I've no word.

Thanks in advance. I appreciate your efforts.

Hi Mike,

It looks like your payment fell into the hole of waiting for the new batch of inks to arrive and attending to other admin stuff here on the board which got neglected a bit when dealing with the flurry of ink orders. Your payment will be processed very quickly, before any new orders are processed.

I reckon that, once the new shipment of inks arrives, you'll be filling the paid-already orders first (assuming there are some), then moving on to send invoices to the pre-order folks if there's inventory remaining. Is that about right?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
