Perhaps these are more what everyone else's cartridges look like. Let me know how it looks on your end.

I don't doubt you have a Lamy cartridge.

I looked at my Lamy cartridges and the number on my blue seems to all be 1103 on the packs I bought a while ago, and 1110 on the one I just got with a pen. So it would seem that it might be a lot number.

I am not sure why you need moderators to decide whether you should take it down or not. The integrity of your review is compromised and that should be the driving factor in your decision process. You obviously do not like Lamy ink, but that is beside the point. Considering the variation in your results compared to other reviews and color samples on websites you should probably check with Lamy before making a judgement.

I find it odd that you keep defending your results. why don't you simply contact Lamy and get an factual response, we are not going to figure it out debating it here. And you have no intention of taking down your review.

Your life really starts when you buy your first Dupont fountain pen; so stop aimlessly wandering through life and buy a Dupont!

The new pics and scans look more like the colour I have, although still more of a purple tinge.

Hi mhphoto. If it's of any use, this is what I have.

First is a photo. Paper looks greyish on screen. This is more true colour to my eye.

Second is a scan. Paper looks far too white, inks look too purple.

Hope that helps.

Mike, that's what I'd call a very decent post. Side-by-side a shot from the camera and one from the scanner.

What more could I ask for (apart from the originals (not meaning top be snide).

MIke2 :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
