Please read: Security leak (fixed currently)

On the bottom left hand corner of the page is a drop down box that lets you change the way the forum looks on your computer, it has a number of looks or skins available for you to try. Just drop down and click on a name (I like Armory), you can always change back.

Phishing is a scammers tool to try to collect peoples usernames and passwords. It falsely leads you to a page that looks like the place you were previously and tells you an error has occurred and tells you to put in your user name and pass word thus trying to steal your identity and possibly money if the password lets them into any of your financial records.

If you did not get the false screen and sign back in during the short time between the Phishing attack and when we discovered it and when the admins shut down the board, then you have nothing else to do. If you did sign in during that short time using the fake screen then the admins suggest you change your password.

If you did sign in, wouldn't you also need to change the password that you use on other sites if it happened to be the same as this one?

Thank you Perry, few things are a little clearer.

I don't believe I was asked to reveal my user name or password recently, but then again there I days that I don't remember what I have had for breakfast.

Of course it may be because my breakfast was not an exciting meal, or it could be those creeping senior moments that I've been struggling with.

If just in case I wish to make a change in either or both words, where would I go?

Oh,... by the way, the Zen garden has a nice look to it. How do you make sure that it becomes your permanent option? I seem to be bumped back to the "same old" form (skin), yet in the box below, lower left, Zen Garden is checked.

Would I have to restart FPN for it to work?

Thanks again.

I don't *think* I got to the phishing page either. I sure hope I didn't, because I've finally gotten to the point where I can (usually) type in my password without making mistakes....

As for the skins, I found that when I logged on, I got to the default, but when I went to look at new content, or read specific threads it would go to the new skin. Pebble Garden, BTW, is less "busy" than some of the others, and a soothing screen to look at -- maybe I won't switch back to the default after all....

That would be a good idea indeed, and preferably to something completely different for each different login. It is best to use an electronic password vault (application) if the number of passwords gets too large to remember them all :).

It should stay on the skin of yoru choice actually, but you would have to make sure on every computer you use. Possibly press Ctrl-F5 a few times as well, and if all that fails, try clearing temp files and browser cache, after logging out from FPN.

I wondered why it was changed from my Library pick and I have it back to my favourite skin. I cant recall if on my.smart phone if I was asked to relog in at some point.

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.

Oh, is that why, in the middle of my vacation, I found myself looking at a different (and rather bandwidth- and processor-intensive) skin. I thought maybe I'd accidentally selected it from my tablet.

Tell me (and please PM me about it): Other than the default "IP.Board," what is the least graphics-intensive skin, that still looks halfway-decent? I am still (by choice) on a G4 "bionic desk lamp" iMac, on a dial-up that rarely gets above 45333 Baud, and will be for the foreseeable future, and "Vault" is way too busy for that kind of hardware.

It also made my eyes hurt. I suggest you try Pebble Garden.

The best for your config would probably be Lo-Fi, but that presents everything as a plain list. I don't know if you would consider that halfway decent, but on my 2008 MacBook Pro with 4 Mb broadband it races down the screen like crazy..

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
