Some Danitrio Love

My Mae West is probably the most comfortable Dani Trio I have (although they all tend to shrink in your hand when writing).

*Curses!* I'll have to try a Mae West style some day because I believe you guys. Not that I'm impressionable or anything. *ahem*

My tame-murasaki is back from the MikeItWork pen spa. Some dasterly person parading as a fountain pen'ner sprung the nib on my EEF flex! Michael fixed it though and it writes wonderfully again. I don't want to be one of those people who screams, "Don't touch my pen!" Yet could happen. I realize my pens must be supervised, from time to time, even among FPN'ers. Michael also turned my Fellowship RF nib into a Japanese sized EF for me. Sublime. Love having them all back and working!

Such is my poor photography...must get a real camera! The eggplant-y tame-murasaki hard to capture unless in bright sunlight. Still, here are all my Danis together:

The Cumlaude sports a Platinum #3776 nib! This was a perfect match, IMHO.

Julie, that nib swap (3776 into Dani) is great! I wonder if I could do the same with a Nakaya and an Edison? Hmmmm...

Currently using:Too many pens inked to list, I must cut back! :) I can guarantee there are flighters, urushi, and/or Sheaffer Vac-fillers in the mix!!!

Hey Josh! Although I've heard tales of an Edison (#6 not #5 nib) & Platinum nib swap, personally I could not make that work. Presumably you could on a Nakaya but, uh, is that a little like carrying coals to Newcastle? *ahem*

I have actually swapped the nib onto a Short Octagon before deciding on the Cumlaude as its proper place. Note that I've simply screwed the Platinum section into the Cumlaude barrel. I found a certain number of pens I could do that with (exchange sections w/ease...aka Nakaya and Danitrio). And hey, that's workin' for me! Some day I might get someone to make a section for the Cumlaude to take the Platinum nib and feed. (Note: this is the smaller Cumlaude I'm using.)

This is neat. I hadn't thought of swapping sections until you mentioned it. Good thought. I wonder what pens I have that are "section compatible"? :)

Also, lovely Dani family portrait!

Have to thank (curse?) Julie for her Danitrio love... I'm now the owner of a Kuro Tamenuri Densho, and couldn't be more pleased. Thanks, Julie!

Welcome to the Danitrio Fellowship, Thomas!

Am so happy you like the Densho. Can't wait to see it!

Oh, and a photo you must post. *ahem*

Okay, if I must. These aren't great, but they do a passing job at showing the color.

Um... all I did was say, "Look at the bright, shiny, pretty pen, Thomas!"happyberet.gif

Your pictures are beautiful and interesting. I have an Aka Tamenuri Densho that I acquired in 2006. It has the same signature - Koichiro Okazaki (Kogaku) - but on the section (directly opposite the top side of the nib) rather than the end of the barrel.

Thanks for your pictures.

May we live, not by our fears but by our hopes; not by our words but by our deeds; not by our disappointments but by our dreams.
