Steve:

Thank you and Brian for your generosity. If I am lucky enough to win I would love to try a broad nib.

Thank you again. I just sent my e-mail as I just found this contest.

Enjoy your pens and good luck with the book.

Don

Well I didn't win :bawl: but thanks for the chance. Good luck with your books!

"Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?" Patrick Henry

Thank you, Steve and Brian Gray, for your generous offer to the FPN community! I'm thrilled and honored to have won the giveaway. I'm a big fan of Edison pens (this will be my seventh), and since my wife and I are expecting twins in March/April, we're happy to say that "Zephyr Takes Flight" will be their first book! We will treasure the book and pen for many years to come.

Thank you!

Hah, they will have to figure that out for themselves. I have two Nouveau Premieres that I will give them along with a journal I'm writing to them during our pregnancy. :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Steve, just to tell you that zephyr takes flight and Christmas Giant arrived to house. Those books are beautiful!!!.

Thank you very much for producing this Children Literature. My 5 year old is loving them and the Christmas Giant is just perfect to beginning the season.

Loved to see Zephyr drawing her ideas with a fountain pen and as a left handed!! Great my son is left handed, and LOVES planes.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
