Nice pen in the pocket:

Herbin 1670 Bleu Ocean

Cheap pens that live on the desk at work:

Noodler's Heart of Darkness

A mixture of Montblanc Royal Blue and Waterman Florida Blue (ink remnants salvaged from other pens when changing ink colors).

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.

Picked up a new Aurora at Dromgoole's Tuesday and wanted a new, permanent blue. Larry showed me Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher and we inkedit in the new pen. Like both. May put the BBK in sosmething else but I will keep one pen with it because of the colour and the permanence.

Parker Quink, my golden standard! I really should take a look around our Paradise Pen/Montblanc stores here in NJ sometime, maybe liven up the ink stockpile...

Hi,

today I'm using Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuyu-kusa (Asiatic Day Flower) a very nice light blue in my new Pilot Capless Limited edition 2012 I bought for my birthday. In my bag I always have a Montblanc 149 with Pilot Irosihzuku Kon-peki, 2 pre 2007 piston filled Omas 360 , a white one with Montblanc Mistery Black and a yellow one with Caran D'Ache Saffron and finally a Pelikan M205 Duo with its dedicated Pelikan Highlighter yellow ink.

Best

Piero

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China. With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters. Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed. And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments.. I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
