Ordered the Chelpark Brigadier Flex yesterday.

This will be my first flex nib so I am looking

forward to it.

Thanks to Fpr for making flex nibs available at

such reasonable prices!

Eagerly awaiting my Serwex 162 flex nib - if this works out to my taste I might have to get one fitted to something a little nicer. Perhaps I'll see about getting a nib shipped to M. S. Pandurangan over there - I'm very pleased with the ebonite FP/MP set he made for me this spring, and one with a nice flex nib would be a treasure.

I am also waiting for the Serwex MB with flex nib too. It makes me wonder if the original feeds are up to the greater demands; I understand that Indian feeds tend not to perform as well, and there are plenty of reports on the improvements brought about by installing feeds from the Sheaffer No-Nonsense.

No, I am not going to list my pens here.

My flex-nib Serwex 162 got here today - I'm impressed! I don't have too much experience with flex, but it compares well to the 'soft standard' nib on my Pelikan 140 - good line variation and not too much pressure needed to flex. It's no wet noodle, but at the same time doesn't carve up the paper like a ballpoint with the pressure needed to flex it. The feed seems to handle general writing and careful flexed writing well, though I did manage to get some intermittent railroading by deliberately pushing it. It may be an artefact of the paper used, though, or residual oils from my hand - it only happened at the bottom of the page, and doing the same thing twice didn't produce railroading both times. All in all I'm very satisfied, especially for the price.

Grrrrr...

I love mine and the flex is awesome BUT !!!

I jammed it into the cap without pay attention. Well this is what I get for it...

I just ordered 2 more nibs though :roflmho:

I hate that this is so easy to do on this pen. Sorry about that! I just sent a replacement nib to Earthdawn. Others who have had the same trouble let me know and I'll do the same.

Thank you kevin ... very very nice and was not at all necessary but very much appreciated. :notworthy1:

It was my fault for not paying attention ... Its like every pen out there... you have to show a little care and attention when using. If you overturn the piston on another pen you can break it. Nibs are delicate and you have to show them a little bit of respect.

A replacement is on the way!

Thanks Kevin, I will be making another order again soon enough, you sure deserve all our support in return

P.S. I mentioned you at another forum some weeks ago and a member bought a yellow Guider from you, so that's a referral on my part :ltcapd:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
