The Fpr Flex Nib Project Is Complete!

Fountain Pen Revolution is now able to provide flex nibs on most of the pens we sell (and medium nibs too).

Any pen can be upgraded to a flex nib for only $4 or medium for $2. Or get the nibs loose for $7 and $4 respectively.

To celebrate we are also offering two different Serwex flex nib pens at a discount as the "pen of the day".

Thanks so much to the many of you who gave advice and encouragement along the way on this project.

A FPR flex nib writing sample done with the Serwex MB with flex upgrade.

The lines are .4mm on the thin end and 1.4mm on the thick end.

What is the largest diameter section of the pens available with the new flex nibs, and which pen has it?

Thanks,

Dan

The Chelpark Antic, Serwex MB, and Guider Ebonite all have sections between 1 and 1.1cm (.4in). These are the widest I have in the flex pens.

I might have to pick a few up hmm.

I see on your website that a vast selection of your Indian pens can be fitted with the flex nib.

WOW !:notworthy1:

This is the best deal since the Ahab and the TWSBI 540. Might even surpass both.

Well done! (despite such heavy opposition to your project you got it done).

These nibs look promising--I'll be putting in (yet another) order soon.

I know it's a long shot but it'd also be nice if you could offer more robust feeds for some of your eyedroppers. I've had good luck replacing the feeds in a couple of Wality Airmail 69Ts with those from Sheaffer NoNonsense pens (thanks to a tip from some FPN posts). Not every eyedropper has feed issues, but it'd be helpful to have a source for replacements.

PS. Just noticed the videos linked from your site--they're well done.

I do hope to provide feed upgrades in the future. As I understand it there is a manufacturer in Kanpur, India who makes the feeds for pretty much every pen produced in India. The problem is that it is often almost impossible in India to do business over the phone or e-mail and I can't even track down the manufacturer. So, I am hoping to make it to Kanpur eventually to see if I can have my own upgrades manufactured. Doing business in India can be quite an adventure!

Thanks for the compliment on the videos. I hope they help.

Would the flex nib fit in a TWSBI 540 by chance?

Looking for a Sheaffer Sovereign II Gray Pearl with an EF nib.

And now my embarrassing admission... I don't have a TWSBI 540 :) The flex nibs are #5 size though if that helps.

It might fit the Schmidt feed, but less likely the Bock feed.

It will be one of the fun experiments to try with the flex nib.

Would it fit on an Ahab/Konrad?

Maybe the Konrad as it's friction fit, but judging from the images, it does look quite similar to the Noodler's flex..?

The nib won't fit the Konrad or Ahab. Those are much larger nibs. But it will fit the original Noodlers flex pen that came before the Ahab.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
