Two New Penmanship Forum Moderators!

Admin

Recommended Posts

Dearest Members and Visitors of the Fountain Pen Nut House,

Two more victims volunteers from amongst us have indicated they would like to help out with moderating one of our forums, in this case, the Penmanship Forum :D. The new co-moderators for this forum are HDoug (Doug) and smk (Salman), and it is with great pride and pleasure that we make this announcement!

Many of you probably do know Doug already as he has been one of our moderators for quite some time, and those of you who do visit the Penmanship Forum probably recognize Salman's name, as he has been a most excellent contributor to the forum for some time already.

Please join us in welcoming Doug and Salman as co-moderators to the Penmanship Forum.

Thank you, and aloha to Doug, and thank you, welcome and hi to Salman!

Warm regards,

The FPN Admin Team

Thank you for the warm welcome folks. It will be a pleasure to contribute to the smooth running of our online haunt. I'm lucky to have Doug and the rest of the moderator team along for guidance.

It was an eye opener for me to see how much work goes into keeping things running smoothly and keeping FPN an enjoyable place for all. I hope to keep up with the high standards our moderators and administrators have set for us.

Welcome all victims....notworthy1.gif

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Congratulations to both of you, Doug and Salman.

I’m sure being a moderator is not such an easy task. Thank you for taking up the task and being there for us, all FPN members.

Halid

I just now saw this thread ...

Hooray! Congrats to the new moderators and, like others in this thread, I'd like to thank you in advance for all your hard work.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for your time and dedication to FPN.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
