Hello friends,

Today in Paris, sun is back and i m happy to show some pictures about the new 1670 ink , available by september 2012: 1670 Bleu Ocean

About the packaging/marketing:

Same bottle as for the 1670 red, and the seal will be also hand made as for the 1670 red ( I made this in 2010

).

Wax is the same flexible wax but in blue

About the box, dolphin, boat? .J.Herbin traveled a lot across the seas

Colour: This time no metallic particles, a very nice blue/black color ( as soon as i will get a bottle i will test it, i think it could be interesting to compare it with the Tanzanite )

If you have any question do not hesitate to ask.

Have a nice day

Kind regards from France

Jean Elie

How exciting! The box makes the color look deep but bright. Intriguing. Bet it will look gorgeous coming from a silver nib like my Pelikan with the silver rings. :)

Thanks, Jean! I just ordered it online. Do you know anything about the price? Maybe the same as for the present red 1670 (I paid 14.95 Euros for it; by comparison, the regulars came in at 6.95)

Oh, my! Imagine how gorgeous those two bottles will look sitting on the shelf next to each other. They certainly crafted a perfect mix of blue and gray on the bottle. Just stunning!

Just when I thought I had all the inks I could want! Wonderfully elegant appearance. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Hi Jean Elie. That is wonderful news, thank you.

Does this replace the current 1670? Or is it an addition to the line?

Hi Laura, thank you :-)

It is an addition to the line, good question

Hello

Where did you order it from - direct from Herbin? I could not find it on PaperandCo's site - unless I missed it, of course.

Between this ink and the R&K Blau Schwarz ink, I shall be broke!8~>

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
