I have a few more words coming up: ALONE, AMBIDEXTROUS, AMBITION and AMNESTY. I am getting tired of the As. Thank fully, there are only 2.5 more pages to go, yeah!

I also skipped ALTAR, so here it goes. Practicing this one was sweet!

Whoa! That ALTAR has a serious blue hue... Oh well... Sorry about that. It looks like the next word is ANOINT. Not my best attempt. Apologies.

Here are ANTIPATHY and APOLOGIZE. I used Diamine Claret with a Noodlers Flex pen. The ink did not come accurately displayed in the picture. Sorry. <== See definition below. :happyberet:

Thank you, Newjelan. I will keep posting as the practice continues. It has proven to be very edifying. The next words are APHORISM and APOSTATE. I like these.

I have no idea what you do to earn a crust but if you are not working full time somewhere in the world of art and illustration, you are wasted. These are amazing drawings.

Thank you for the compliments. This is for fun. In truth, I am like the apothecary above. I delve in the arts of allopathic health care. Here are a few more words APPEAL and APPETITE.

You're fantastic! These are cracking me up. I say we have this volume of yours reproduced and sell it as an FPN fund-raiser!

It makes me happy that you are enjoying these. I like to too; and it gives me reason to use pens and ink and paper. We have a lot of words to go. Here are a few more: APPLAUSE and APRIL FOOL.

May I be cheeky and ask if you've seen the '70s Phoebe Street edition or the more recent version illustrated by Hunt Emerson?

Some of your illustrations really bring Miz Street to mind...

I must confess my ignorance; I have not heard of either artist or or their work. I would love to see their illustrations!

Here are a few more words: ARSENIC (Yay for Alice!), AVERNUS and ART (I shall defer the Vitruvian sketches to the one and only Master).

Pardon the expression, but I had a little brain fart while documenting the ink I used in this picture. The correct ink is Waterman South Sea Blue.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
