New Goulet Exclusive Ink?

Ok Mr. and Mrs Goulet, I have a trick question for you.

I was going to place an order today for a blue ink. Do you think it would be wise to wait until next week to decide which particular blue to order? I mean, might I have more choices?

Not falling for that! haha

You'll definitely have more choices once it arrives. It's just a question of whether you'll have more choices among blues or another color outside your normal palette.

Also depends on what properties you're after. :roflmho:

It's like that dratted cling wrap - it won't come off ANYTHING unless you take a power tool to it. :roflmho:

It will write on non-paper substances. China, glass, metal... :eureka:

The delivery is so fast, it's on the page before you do more than uncap the pen. :ltcapd:

You should get that pen fixed before ink gets on your hands, table, shoes... especially if it won't come off . ;)

Great pic of your pup ...

How about a salute to your cousin? "If Ever I Would Leave You" Green. It would be beyond bullet-proof ('no never would I leave you, at all.') and change colors with the seasons.

If Tardiff hits the bullseye of most revered blue on the want lists..

folks reconstituting expensive little spits in old sample cartridges..

you know The Onesleep.gif

Definitely works for Goulet theme.

might it have secondary characteristics?

Of what ink do you speak of?

My psychic told me the new ink is called California Quaking. It is a high shading brown that shimmers making it appear to move. On the extreme edges of the brown the ink shades to a fire red. When exposed to water, the ink smokes.

A Virginia company selling a ink called California?

And made in New England. Perfect.

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.

I'm guessing Parker Penman Saphire.

Perhaps a reissue of one of the former Swisher exclusives?

I suggest it's something like Gojira (or Godzilla, if you prefer) Atomic Green. A shading dark, mossy green that shades almost black along the outermost edges once dry. Oh, and it should have a savoury reek....like wheatgrass tablets...hahaha! bunny01.gif

I'm not a fan of scented inks; otherwise, this sounds good.

We can probably rule out purple since there's already Purple Heart.

I'm betting on green or blue. I hope it smells like unicorns.

I can hardly wait. Well, actually I do need to wait. I'm trying to sell some pens to fund current purchases. I then want to wait for this ink to place an order for some nice Clairefontaine paper with microperforartions from Goulet at the same time. I really need that paper to increase the amount of scannable paper I own for review purposes. Of course, I could just be really patient and wait for the great new Diamine inks as well. Hmm.

The money was well spent. I left the briefcase under a streetlight at 2am in the park and waited for the man in black to leave the envelope on the bench. After reading the communique, I burnt the message.

My sources indicate that the new ink is called "Sailor's Delight" and is intended to be used as both a fountain pen ink AND an indelible tattoo ink. It's a murky, mint green with swirls of dark blue that accurately reproduces the shades of tattoos from the WWII era after they've faded and stretched with age. Rumor is that Nathan has obtained a limited supply of verdigris from the Titanic wreckage that he is using as a master blend to get the color shade JUST right. No word as to whether or not Davy Jones has an advance supply of ink in his locker.

And when did you first start noticing these symptoms?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
