New Goulet Exclusive Ink?

Introducing..... Noodler's Liberty's Elysium. A bulletproof true blue.

Hey, Rachel, looks great! Could you maybe answer one question: I note from Brian's review that it is pretty slow to dry. Can you tell me what the dry time, in comparison, is for Bad Belted Kingfisher? I'm a lefty and smearing is a bit of a pain, but I'd like to get a bulletproof blue. I'm guessing BBK is a slow-dryer too, but I thought I'd ask.

We haven't timed it, but I would guess it would be comparable.

Did Brian do a dry-time comparison to PR American Blue? I have a bottle of that and the color looks, as Brian said in the video, to fairly similar (but of course not with the bulletproof qualities).

I quite like PRAB, so to have something similar but waterproof would be fabulous. I've noticed that Noodler's North African Violet dries slower than PR Purple Mojo, but is a much more vibrant color.

ETA: Just noticed that this is my 500th post! Seems sort of appropriate somehow....

I'm happy, I was looking for a true blue but Noodler's Blue is kind of lacking shading, and this one pops up with some nice shading! I'll wait for reviews though, I want to see how it performs on cheap paper.

No, he hasn't reviewed that one yet either, so I'm afraid I have no idea.

I think bulletproof/waterproof inks just take longer in general to dry.

Thank you, Rachel. I just watched the vid, and as a fellow Quaker, I guess I have to get myself a bottle of this! :)

Thanks Goulets and Nathan! A vivid, true blue with bulletproof properties . . . at last and Hurray! I write this as I prepare to order a bottle.

Wow, my 2 bottles have already shipped. The Goulet service never ceases to amaze. Looking forward to doing my first review once these arrive.

My order (4 empty ink bottles, a Number 18 sized Clairefontaine top staplebound, and the ink) shipped this afternoon. Unbeknownst to me, my coworker pen addict in training dropped off a significantly larger order that also shipped today. We're both hopeful that since we're in Danville, we might see delivery tomorrow. That's out of the hands of the Goulets and in the hands of USPS, though. They did all they could to make it happen for us! :)

As I vowed on Ink Nouveau, I will do my best to review the ink the day I get it.

Pen addict in training. His collection is at an estimated 12-15 pens and inks and just grew to the order of a Vac 700, a Konrad, and a Safari. He didn't choose this ink, though. I think he placed the order earlier in the day.

congratulations!

Now that's what I call a lovely surprise - great!

(can't wait to compare it in the swabs...)

Same here. I want to see how it compares with PR DC Supershow Blue.

Snagged a few bottles of Liberty. Looks fantastamundo!

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Truth be told I was hoping it would be a heavily shading, high-sheen blue. But I'll withhold judgement until I try it myself.

First off, kudos to Nate and the Goulets for the new ink. I'm sure it has appeal to many. However, to be honest, I'm not surprised that it is blue. Moreover, nor am I overly thrilled. Obviously I need to try it before a judgment, but I'm not rushing off to order a sample. I like the idea of it, but it doesn't seem that interesting. Sure, it may be a practical ink, a workhorse even, due to its bulletproof characteristics, but something just says to me... mehhhh. I have Noodler's Blue Eel, but this new ink doesn't seem that different enough for me. That said, I'm VERY interested in seeing the reviews by FPN members.

Am I nuts? Anyone else feel the same way.

Respect to all. I don't mean to be a party popper. I just say what's on my mind and expect others to do the same too.

That might be the blue I've been looking for. *Ordered*

+1 as a 'Tahitian Pearl' fan, my fav. orphan ink.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
