fpn_1351795567__pict0001.jpg

I would like this to go to a relative FP newbie so please don't apply if you've already requested one of my PIFs before.

I will send Worldwide and will pick the "winner" next week.

Thanks for looking!!

I've now got another of these to PIF, who's interested?

Winners:- Harlequin and invisiblehats PM me with your addresses.

The one with the slightly damaged nib is still up for grabs!

Oh, thank you so much! I am so excited for the pen.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you too!!! :D

P.S. I love your sig. It's a hard way to live, but once you've started there's nothing like it, eh? :clap1:

Well, I am not new to FPN but have decided to write more with a FP. That pen looks nice, looks like it has some heft and probably has nice balance. I'd like to add my name to the hat, but if it does go to someone else, I hope it does get used. I live in Northern Colorado and use my Monte Verde FP every day with Noodlers ink. Some people act as if they have not ever seen a fountain pen before ... too funny

Hello again! As I was giving my desk a much-needed cleaning I came across some more items I'm not interested in keeping. I'll get rid of more later, but for now I'm PIF'ing a silver Ohto Dude.

The pen is in great condition, practically unused, with a lovely smooth nib. Its a cartridge/converter and I'll send it with one of each. Unfortunately even though its advertised as a fine it writes a medium line at best. This is far too wide for my minuscule handwriting so I'm going to PIF to someone who needs it. I would prefer it goes to someone who is new to FPs, or otherwise wouldn't be able to afford a new pen. If you're outside North America I may need to ask for a bit of help with shipping depending on your location.

I'll pick someone randomly using the random number generator at random.org. Due to the holidays I'll probably keep this going for a week or so, so everyone has a chance to see and enter for it.

Thanks to everybody who entered, I'll have some more to PIF in 2013.

I am so happy with this news - I adore the design of the Ohto Dude, and I was contemplating buying it myself. Thank you so much! I hope to be able to pay things forward as well in the future.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
