Nice review...Thanks!

If I didn't have so many browns already this would be on my list!

It seems to fit nicely between Noodler's Golden Brown (too light for me) and the darker browns. It seems a bit expensive to me, at $18.75 for 30 ml. That makes Caran D'Ache $0.63/ml, while Iroshizuku is $0.56/ml (and has an arguably nicer bottle).

Inasmuch as Noodler's is $0.13/ml, Caran D'Ache is over 4 times more expensive than Noodler's. I have way too many browns to justify Grand Canyon, though I do like the shading of Grand Canyon. If I can get the same effect by diluting Noodler's 2:1, that would make Noodler's more like $0.04/ml.

It is off topic, but that is one classy looking Ink Review Sheet!

I like this ink very much. It is rather expensive though. More per ml that Iroshizuku inks. I like the MB Toffee Brown more that this.

He came down from heaven and was made man.

I just debuted my sample yesterday, too. Your review sheet really captures its color; there's a golden tint to the light brown that's very pleasing. I also was struck by the shading, even with an extra fine Lamy Safari.

I think this would be a very nice ink for ink drawing, which alas I don't do. For me, it's a tad light for most writing. It is better to my eyes -- easier to read -- on unlined paper, so I might use it for the occasional note, or even place cards. I also might try mixing in a bit of a darker brown.

I was glad of the chance to try it, as I never would have picked this one myself, but liked it.

Thanks for the very nice review. Did you make that review form?

I did I thought I would give it a try and am pleased with how it turned out.

Great review. Thanks!

Especially your planning of the topics in your own review formula.

BTW my very most favourite brown.

May I add in all humble suggestiveness, that the actual writing of the ink on paper might be larger and/or more enlargeable.

Best regards

I am still tweaking it, formatting has been a challenge and that is something I would like to fix.

Thanks for whetting my appetite on this! I was thinking it might be in the Sept Ink Drop, and when I got mine on Tuesday it was my favorite of the bunch. I ended up buying a bottle.

The form is fine, better than fine really. It's very interesting and well laid out. It looks like it was reduced a bit in the scanning process, perhaps you could just keep it at a larger pixel size to make the summary easier to read?

The issue I have found is linking to photobucket it does not enlarge the image. I am trying to resolve this issue.

There is a 4.88mb global quota and I have actually found a way to surpass it. I can no longer attach things to my post.

Using the upload tab is different than attaching an image. There is no global quota for images posted via the upload tab. Once you upload, you just copy and past the image URL into your post.

Clever. I hadn't realized this was an option!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
