Must Buy Chinese Fountain Pen: Highly Reliable Chinese Fountain Pens In China

I have several Heros and Wing Sungs with smooth fine and extra fine nibs. In my experience Wing Sungs and Heros are unbeatable starters. Most of my Jinhaos will dry up if sitting about. The Hero 007 is a surprisingly good beater for the low price, and good extra fines I have are the Wing Sung 612 and Wing Sung 803. For these EF Chinese nibs I can recommend Richard Guo as a seller. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

I've also ordered from Richard. Recently got a Hero 200a in the mail from him.

Pen arrived in excellent shape, the shipping was prompt (about 10 days to US) and he seems like a reliable supplier if you want to order directly from Shanghai.

If you have reservations about sending $ to China, there are always the usual suppliers in the US, but your pen selection may be limited.

Hello,

I was just admiring your Chinese pen collection. I was wondering where did you get the Luo Shi pen boxes? I too have a Chinese pen collection and they are perfect.

Thank you,

Ephraim

I have had very good experience with Hero pens sold at isellpens.com. The owner is very helpful (he talked my poor husband through a Christmas purchase a few years ago - all I'd told him was that I wanted a semi-hooded nib - got two of my daily writers from that purchase).

Could you please recommend me 3 or 5 Chinese fountain pens that consistently deliver high quality and excellent value? Chinese fountain pens that look very good and perform wonderfully.

What exactly is a Chinese fountain pen? Do you mean pens made by Chinese manufacturers? Are pens from US, European or Japanese manufacturers that are made in China also 'Chinese fountain pens'?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
