My first ink review. I lack the artist's eye for describing colors. Please don't be too hard. I am also new to uploading images.

Thanks much for the review. The August Ink Drop was my first encounter with this ink. I think it is more olive than spinach (except for that awful canned spinach they fed us public school cafeterias). I do get some variations in darkness when using this in my cursive italic pen.

 

It may be too much like PR Avacado to justify my buying it. I'm partial (smitten with) Diamine Umber at the moment, but will probably add the Sailor Epinard to my next Goulet Order.

Thanks for a useful review of an unusual colour. It looks like a green that could be used in personal correspondence without hurting the reader's eyes!

Very interesting color; thanks for writing this one up. I'll have to pick up a sample myself... I've been looking for a nice olive and somehow never noticed this one.

Being a BIG fan of green inks I bought this as soon as it came out in May. I find it closer to spinach than olive. YMMV I love it.

 

I like darker brown inks and darker green inks because they both look fantastic on ivory paper!!

Just got a bottle of Epinard a few days ago and I can already tell that it's going to be one of my favorite dark greens (along with MB Racing Green & PR Ebony Green).

I was wondering about your comment about the ink's water resistance. When I looked at this one, I noticed a soak resulted in some dyestuff washing away, but there was enough remaining to be legible/salvageable. LINK

This looks like a great green. I love the dark shade, but it's not as near-black as, say, Ebony Green or Zhivago.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
