Update 8/27/11 1:25 pm

If you got a shipping notice yesterday, those packages made it to the post office, but I don't know how the storm will affect delivery. Due to the coming storm the post office closed early today and I was unable to ship today's ink. The two people who received shipping notices today and the one Canadian person who did not will experience a delay. I hope to be able to get to the post office on Monday, but that depends on how much damage we get.

There are a few invoice that need to go out. Those and any others that arrive this weekend will be taken care of as long as we have power.

Inventory:

4.5 oz Bottles of Galileo Manuscript Brown = SOLD OUT

Remaining 4.5 oz Bottles of Dumas Tulipe Noire = 3

3 oz bottles of Brown = 29

3 oz bottles Tulipe = 41

I expect the next trip to the post office will be Monday, but may be longer depending on power.

Just received news from Elaine:

Cranford, NJ, has no power and PSE&G says they expect that it won't be restored for 5 to 7 days. I won't be able to process any orders until then.

Our town was badly flooded with many trees and power lines down and much of it was evacuated. We we are in a no flood zone and only had some water in the basement. No damage. The worst of it is being bored bored bored.

I tried logging in to msn on my iPhone but Im having trouble.

Should conserve battery anyway.

And:

Other than not having electricity, our house is fine.

That street sign is a FULL 2 blocks from our house.

Let's hope all will be well soon again on the East Coast.

Warm regards, Wim

Power back on. I'll resume shipping soon, after catching up on other things that I couldn't do. Probably tomorrow or Monday. The few packages that got shipping notices but didn't make it to the post office before the storm will go out today.

Is there any chance the 4.5oz bottles of MS Brown will be sold again? I LOVE the color and I use the ink daily. I don't even need the pen, the ink just lives for the Parker 51 it's been mated to.

If you go to the first post, they do say that MS Brown will be available from the new distributor in a couple of months. They didn't mention the size, though.

It'll require discussion with Nathan and our new ink distributor :D. However, very likely that will indeed happen.

Hello: Do you have any more brown in any size. Let me know and give me ordering instructions. I'm new to the forum ordering protocol. Thanks, Jaime Cazador

Hello FPN Admin:

I placed an order for ink a month ago. I sent three follow-up emails to check on the status, but have not heard anything back. Is Elaine okay?

Thanks,

Todd

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
