Nice pictures, Kathleen! I love the village shot. The teatime one reminded me of one I took at a tea market in China. I didn't like the way mine turned out-bad in several respects, IMO, just snapped it quickly from the doorway. But it was an interesting place:

A couple more I took there:

Where is this one at? It's beautiful

Sonia, This was taken in Grasmere, England. I have just returned from my vacation in the Lake District of England, Edinburgh, Scotland and 5 days in Ireland. It was wonderful, so many beautiful scenes. I wish I was a better photographer, with a better camera.

tell me you got another pic of the superbirds spoiler (or nose) - ever so distinctive!

funny thing is that the car isn't a superbird but it has the superbird decal. i have a pic of the entire car, but it's on a roll of film for now.

Film is great, but middling photographers like me wasted a lot of it to get a good picture... I like digital for the ability to shoot so many without developing a bunch of junk. Still miss it, though.

Since nobody has added for a while, I'll throw another in the mix. This is a shot from a little excursion to northern Arkansas, where there is a project to build a medieval castle, using original methods. I think they're planning on it lasting 30+ years. They have their own quarry on-site, as well as artisans in various fields. This is a shot from the pottery area, which was unmanned, but interestingly arranged, I thought.

Thanks Kathleen, what a nice picture, I love stone walls fences in the country I think they are underated as a sign of civilization, they keep the soil for centuries avoiding erosion and drought keeping the moisture and humidity of earth giving good pastures and fruits even in the desert. For many years I been thinking that it is the answer to low productivity in the agro, dont have to tell you that I hate the barbed wire. Greetings.

well this picture I took in Tokyo is just about as far from The Natural World as I can get! I found downtown Tokyo at night absolutely mesmerizing...

The colors, the energy, one can almost hear the busy street sounds while gazing at this amazing photo! Thanks for sharing.

I will share a tranquil residential scene I snapped in Edinburgh, Scotland, another great city but a very different vibe than Tokyo.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
