Hello,

I'm happy to let Fountain Pen Network members know that Signum Pens from Italy are again available in North America. Ambiente Promotions Inc. represents Conway Stewart, Venlo Luxury Cases, and Jac Zagoory Desk accessories in Canada, and has now taken on Signum for North America. This will be Ambiente's first foray south of the border, and I'm eager to meet all of the pen enthusiasts behind the great stores in the US, and their customers.

Stock should be arriving mid-July.

Great news! :notworthy1:

I have two Signum pens---both Oriones---and I love them both! I am so happy that Signum's new distributor will be located here in the Great White North. Hopefully one or two stores in Vancouver will be carrying them. :eureka:

Here's hoping, anyway! :D

I'm thrilled about it too, and I'm eager to visit the pen stores in Vancouver! I just found out today that my inventory is ready to be shipped so I'm going to start promoting Signum to my local retailers!

Thanks for your comment. It's encouraging on the start of this new endeavour!

I'm so glad to hear that! I was worried what would happen after Mary Ann Zucker died. I love Signum's pens.

Had a B nib Ornamenta once that was a smooth writer but way too light and narrow for my preferences. Be interesting to see what comes out and how the pricing runs.

Erick

I have a handful of Signum pens, all due to Maryann, may she rest in peace! I'm interested to see what new designs the company comes out with. (But seeing a write-up for Signum certainly makes me miss Maryann.)

I think the new designs are wonderful, and I'm hoping you will too. I can honestly say, I never met Maryann, but I sure am hearing alot about her lately. I hope I can fill her shoes and excite as many people about Signum as she did!

I'll keep you posted as I move along. I'm receiving my first inventory shipment shortly, and will start approaching retailers as soon as I have something to show them. Hopefully by the end of July I will have some good news. Any particular retailer you would like me to approach first?

Bry at Pentime.net, James at Peartree Pens, and Brian at Goulet Pens. That should get us started

Hi,

I'm really happy with the price point of Signum. It's exactly what I was looking for. So far from what I can tell, my retailers think it is in a good range. They aren't afraid of it, or think it is too high. I know the CDN market is different from the US, but I can only consider that to be a good indication of how the brand will be met by all retailers/consumers.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
