can anyone please give an review on Pelikan Pura fountain pen?

Does it have a converter ,as a standard/option?

I bought and returned the Pura. It does not come with a converter, but Fountain Pen Hospital included one for free. I was really impressed with look of the pen - much more of a modern statement than so many pens out there. Unfortunately, I didn't like how it wrote. I found that it skipped at least once every 3 or 4 lines. (Truth in advertising - I'm a lefty and I often turn and twist pens as I write.) I had high hopes for the pen, and in person it looks every bit as good as its pictures and has a wonderful balance. But for me, the skipping was just too annoying to keep the pen.

Greetings,

I have created this topic for those of you who would like to request specific pen reviews from FPN members. Basically, you can request a review for a specific pen model or manufacturer here. All you need to do is reply to this topic and hopefully one of you can post a pen review in the area where we normally post reviews. Periodically I will purge out the requests that have been fulfilled or have been in the thread for a year (expires), this will save space and make this area less cluttered and easy to browse. If an older request of yours is deleted, feel free to add again--the later ones are viewed more frequently.

I hope that this will make your requests for specific pen reviews easier to fulfill.

Please enjoy and thanks for your support!

I would appreciate a review of the Pilot Custom 845 Ebonite pen with possibly a comparison with the Sailor KOP.

Would like to see reviews of:

Pilot Ecrino

Office store brands. In particular, Office Depot has its "Focus" brand and makes a FP (seen on the spinner rack with the Pilot Knights and Waterman Phileas...es... Phileae?)

[EDIT: Ecrino has now been reviewed--here.]

I would love to see a review of any of the Hakase fountain pens. A Happy New Year to all.

I second the motion for a review database for ballpoints and rollerballs.

Also, a review on Pelikan 300 would be nice.

Reviews of the Esterbrook Renew-Points (ie, organised by nib #) would be cool.

Hi guys

Hey why not a tete a tete in between some pens considered as similar.

I do propose

OMAS Milord tete a tete with Montegrappa Miya

or

OMAS Paragon tete a tete with Montegrapa Extra 1930

comparing nib qualities, filling systems materials etc

Any way also some review for the Miya will be nice

Very best

Ricardo

I came across a line of pens from the Paridise Pen Company in the US. They run under the brand name 5280. I was hoping that someone might have some insight about their functionality. I certantly like their look and feel. You can take a look at their site to see them.

Thanks in advance for the review.

When going on a journey always take your pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
