Important Fountain Pen Network Exclusive Ink Update

Elaine

Recommended Posts

Dear FPN Members,

Ink order processing has been delayed since January due to several issues. Thank you all for your patience! Also, it is our policy to send an email thank you to people who donate to FPN. If you have donated in the last few months, thank you so much! Emails will follow.

We are weaning me away from handling the ink orders. Unfortunately this process will entail inks being out of stock temporarily one after the other until they are all gone and the new ink person can take over. Unfortunately the blue ink is currently out of stock. We still have a lot of Galileo Manuscript Brown and Dumas Tulipe Noire so order away.

Since I was away in January, and became ill when I returned, there are orders dating from then that I am processing now. The last 13 bottles of blue are being processed today. If your invoice includes it, then you will get the blue ink.

If you did not order blue: you will get an invoice sometime today. If it's been a while and you want to cancel that order, please let me know at fpnadmin@gmail.com.

If you ordered only blue: You will receive an email canceling the order. We'll notify you when the ink is available again and you will be able to re-order at that time.

If you ordered blue and other colors: You will receive an email asking if you still want the other colors and an updated invoice will be sent according to your choice.

Stay tuned for a personal retrospective of FPN exclusive inks. It is a project close to my heart. Meanwhile, back to work…

Elaine

Great to see this post! My "main inks" are the Dumas & Galileo Brown. I LOVE the brown and it's a must have for anyone who likes a brown ink.

We are still sorting things out for our VGSN ink. Database crash and FPN Pen did delay the new setup unfortunately. We will likely need a few more weeks to get things all sorted out. In short: still well ahead of the delivery of any of the FPN Pens :D.

No specific deadline but they are being produced as a limited edition pen so there are a limited number being sold. They won't be ordered and produced until the edition is sold out. So jump in now and order your favorites before they are all gone!

Normally, you woudl have an answer within a week.

However, Elaine, who is handling th eink still, is not very well, so it may take longer.

Í am trying to contact her, no success yet.

Warm regards, Wim

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
