Pens And A Binder Vp Nib For Sale

Hello!

This is my first sale on FPN so I will likely make rookie mistakes, but I have bought plenty here and on ebay and brick and mortar and have a collection of over 60 active pens. See terms and conditions at end. Most are working well and I have tried to describe issues as best I can. Unless otherwise noted pens do not have engravings or significant scratches. Prices are USD and do not include shipping.

About me: I use all my pens and treat them carefully in cleaning, transport and writing. Most here have only been used a few times and thus are on sale. Selling off many of my earliest pens which I acquired as I found my niche in pen tastes. Started using FP’s in 2006. I do not read FPN or personal email while at work, but will respond ASAP.

1) Hero #200 (treble clef motif). One of my first pens acquired from Hisnibs.com. In full disclosure, Tom did have to repair the inside plastic cap which came unglued. The acrylic barrel sparkles a little purple, but hard to capture on photo. Aerometric pump style and no longer available. Nib is stiff, reliable F/M. Filled 2-3 times and near mint. Great gift for a music lover. $70.00 Box and papers available.

2) Onoto De La Rue – green marble. Lovely green color with semi flex nib. Bought from Pen Haven in MD in 2004. Used several times to practice handwriting and even makes my handwriting look better with a wonderful nib. Near perfect color and gold lettering in excellent condition. 4 15/16” No box or papers. $75.00

3) Parker 51 Cedar Blue. Ef/F vacumatic. If you want a fine reliable writer, can’t go wrong here. New bladder when purchased. $90.00

4) Omas Extra Ogiva style, bright blue. M nib which is medium wet flow with box and paper. Correction no box or papers. My error. 18kt nib. $90.00 SOLD

5) Parker Premier Athens with #76 OB “crisp” nib, new from Lee Chait with correct section and piston twist converter. Hard to find pen style with classy black ribs and unique nib. Filled a couple times, near mint. Green inside cap on pic is not brassing, but leftover ink and cleaned off when noticed. Box and papers avail. 200.00

6) Parker 51 Demi aerometric blue. I may regret letting this one go, but not getting enough use. Nice reliable M/F nib. No box/papers. $30.00

SOLD

7) Lot of intro/practice pens, no box papers: 15.00

a) Reform 1745. Mint unused.

b.) Reform “original” P-120 hooded style nib. Had filled this once and used with no issues – very reliable

fine line. When I went to clean it for the sale, piston seal leaked (I probably over turned the piston)

and ink came out the blind cap/screw top. Use this one to practice piston repairs.

c) Dollar 717i (not shown). Intro level demonstrator. Filled once. Scratchy fine nib, but good wet flow

minimizes scratchy feel. Flow inconsistent when starting, but nice wet flow once going. Another good

practice smoothing pen. Pic available separately - forgot to add it when shooting the group.

8) Sheaffer black Sentinel with silver cap and gold clip. Very classy looking pen. EF/F which feels scratchy to me, but is very reliable flowing. Possible tines off, but I can’t see it and have had others look and all seems OK. Maybe it’s just really fine and thus scratchy. No box/papers. 30.00 SOLD

9) Sheaffer Admiral Periwinkle/Aqua Blue? pen and pencil. Orig box available. Near mint and used a couple times. When filling to write sample for this sale, was unable to screw snorkel back down so needs repair and priced accordingly. $40.00

10) Vanishing Point nib only with Binder cursive italic left oblique 15 degree, 0.7mm. Have original description card (part of it showing in pic 4 at top) and nib plastic sleeve guard from Richard. 80.00.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
