Private Reserve Chocolate

Along with others' suggestions, may I offer Diamine Chocolate Brown? My 4-item personal ink-sample review process says it's 70% dark chocolate.

Sandy, I am new to this culture of pens, paper and inks. I read your entire review, and learned so much. Thank you for investing so much time on such an incredibly detailed document. I will look at your past review, and wait for your upcoming ones. Thanks!

Thanks for this one, Sandy - !

I've been wondering about this ink vs. other "chocolate" inks from J.Herbin, Noodlers, etc.

- your personal thoughts and commentary always provide helpful insight with this subject matter.

Hi,

You're welcome!

I too often think about chocolate, but not often in terms of ink.

I think what we are presented with are inks reminiscent of sweet milk / milky chocolate, rather than the high cocoa content chocolate that seems to be gaining popular appeal.

And from a pure marketing standpoint, I would name a brown ink 'chocolate' rather than 'squished squid sepia'.

As always, a great review. Currently, this ink is in my TWSBI (three consecutive refills with this ink). Two minor points:

  1. The name is Private Reserve Chocolat, not Chocolate.
  2. The bottle shape has changed to to a taller and narrower format.

Hi,

Glad you like the Review and the ink!

Thanks for the heads-up on spelling. I'll add it to my spell chequer.

Bottle Shape:

  • Ah, while my bottle is not so recent, IIRC, the
    Fast Dry
inks are in packaging with the taller and more narrow form factor: bottle height of 65mm, box size 58x70x41mm. Perhaps all have been changed.
  • As there is a Fast Dry version of Chocolat_, please check to confirm - it may help consumers & sales staff if box/bottle labels are not clearly / obviously marked.

Click the link in my earlier post and scroll down below the fast dry inks and you'll see that Chocolat (and several others) is now in the taller bottles.

@Ruaidhri This was an absolutely wonderful bit of writing, and I hope that you're able to maintain the style once all of the medications are out of your system.  Take care and recover quickly!

These comments make me sad as I sympathise with Ruaidhri, having great difficulties in being taken seriously. Or being taken at all (no off-colors jokes, please!) In spite of overwhelming odds,  Ruaidhri -now I know how to spell it- made a courageous decision and stuck to it. I was diagnosed with a similar growth in a place I will not reveal. Oh, well, if you insist it was Mount Sinai Hospital. But I firmly intend to walk in Ruaidhri's footsteps, if he will let me, on my next visit to Dublin.

Was that the end of the Laboratory? Somehow the exactitude created a fully destructive device, as always!
