I have looked at all the inks you showed in this thread many times. I can't imagine how long this took to do in total. Thanks again!

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Greetings and Many Thanks for the awesome display, I appreciate the amount of work this entailed.

I started collecting LAMY Vista's, since I first wrote with one a few weeks ago and discovered how smooth the nib was. (Even smoother than my Phileas Medium!)

I use mainly 1.1 nibs as they seem to be the more consistently smooth size. I have all of the other sizes, but some are disappointingly scratchy. Having experienced the joy of a smooth nib, to find one less smooth really was a pity.

Have you ever encountered this? And do you do any nib-smoothing?

I know that this thread was resurrected by someone and it might make make some unhappy. But I'm glad they did. This is VERY useful and I found it greatly helpful. Thanks for the work!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy.       I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
