Since Orange is my favorite color, I MUST own a bottle of the Kin Mokusei. Off to check engika on ebay!

The search for the perfect blue ink is a delicious and endless quest...

Well Well Well,

I'm late to the party as usual, and the hors d'œuvre are picked-over, so I'll go for the chu-shu.

If anyone finds a stateside Vendor, please send me a PM.

Bye,

Oh drat! You had to post that, didn't you? I want them all and I've got no money. :crybaby: No instant gratification for me, this time.

I put my order in off Rakuten last night. I nearly got all four, but I reconsidered on the Kin-Mokusei. I've never been tempted by Apache Sunset or Yu-Yake, so why this one? Realistically, I'll never use it. Very pretty though.

Do you have a link? I couldn't find it when I browsed around Rakuten.

Thanks,

Here's a link to Buneido on Rakuten.

Wow! When I looked yesterday they still had all four of the new inks in stock but today it seems Yama-Dori is sold out. Better order now while you can.

I've been buying from the Rakuten seller Voice with much satisfaction - best price on the Sailor LEs that I've seen. Yama-dori is still in stock there, links to the other colours at the bottom of the page.

  • 2 weeks later...

I ordered some of the Sailor ink and a Iroshizuku from vendor Buneido through Rakuten, but received an email in Japanese with one sentence in broken english telling me if I did not have a Japanese address to ship, I should cancel the order. So I cancelled.

I've never purchased through Rakuten before, so what did I do wrong?

Thanks in advance...

Jose

Don't know.

I've ordered pens from Buneido and had no problems.

Try ordering from Voice as suggested by drifting.

I ordered some from Voice (via Rakuten) and it seems like it worked. If the track-trace site is to be trusted, the package is bouncing around Santa Clara, trying to find my office.

Best, greg

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
