A brand new ink, huh? I wonder if it's what I hope it is...

What do you hope?

By the way, the inks are out  I know some people in Virginia have already gotten them today :puddle:

I got my Ink Drop package today. I don't think anyone will be disappointed. I won't spoil anyone's surprise, but if you REALLY can't wait, PM me.

I plan to live forever. So far, so good.

I wasn't too excited at first, but after getting that e-mail a few days ago, I have been getting more and more hyped. In fact, I almost went off the road today while trying to think about what inks were coming in.

I'm excited, too, but please tell me you're kidding about going off the road?

Inkoholics Anonymous may be closer than we think. Oh, wait, that's probably most -- if not all -- of FPN. :headsmack:

Not kidding, But I said "almost".. after an hour or so of boring roads following the same bright orange Schneider truck I noticed a back to school ad in a soybean field. So I started wondering if there would be an orange in the kit.. Primary school color boxes usually have orange and the colors of the rainbow ROYGBIV would work out to maybe Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, or maybe a Purple. So what orange would be in the samples? ..... Next thing I knew I was drifting towards the shoulder. Never went off the road

I'll let you know after they come. There's just one brand new ink I knew would be out soon and a few days ago you'd mentioned in another thread you would have it in sometime in the next week. And then when the samples were delayed by the un-arrival of a new ink, well, it started the gears turning in my head. Either way, I won't be disappointed with what comes. :)

True. Guess it's pretty obvious which one I'm talking about then?

The first Ink Drop right before a holiday weekend is tough.

I might have to relocate to VA to get them sooner...

Well mine arrived this AM and I am pleasantly surprised. I will not spoil it for others with the samples, but it's all I expected and more from Brian. Thank you.

BTW.. Nice guesses folks, some were spot on.

The only bad aspect was that I had samples of two of the colors from previous purchases from Brian. But three were new.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
