Either denial of service as a weapon against sites, slaving other people's machines to do their dirty work for them, stealing credit cards, stealing personal information thru spam - all of this is criminal. Just hard to prosecute.

Just wanted to report this alert I got 2 minutes ago. I only had tabs open for Richardspens.com and this website, when my Firefox (ver 3.6.3) was shut down and alert from ZoneAlarm Extreme Security displayed this box while typing a response here. I don't know if this was real time, or from an earlier visited website.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

BINGO...there is a problem again. Just as I was posting this image, it appeared again, and shut down my browser, with no other sites visited.

Trend Micro anti-virus is warning me that something similar is happening when I access FPN or any sub page or forum. Obviously something is still going on here. It is blocking whatever link or script that the bad webpage is trying to load but the hackers must still be at it here.

Yes, apparently so.

I believe that a major difficulty is locating the real people.

The step from the virtual world to the real world can be hard to trace, if the criminals have covered their virtual tracks well enough.

Either denial of service as a weapon against sites, slaving other people's machines to do their dirty work for them, stealing credit cards, stealing personal information thru spam - all of this is criminal. Just hard to prosecute.

The standard procedure for unsavory types such as these is to daisy-chain multiple proxy servers which have extremely short-lived logs (not to mention almost inaccessible system admins) and then to use rootkits to cover up their tracks on the target system. A well-versed cracker is almost impossible to find. The primary way crackers get convicted is through their own bragging.

Did you try clearing your browser cache?

Well, indeed, it was fixed again.

There was another small loophole, which si also closed now.

Somebody is testing us it seems.

Hello, Admins!

I've received the following error a couple of times:

Warning: require_once(/home/fpnadmin/public_html/forum/admin/applications/core/sources/classes/attach/class_attach.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fpnadmin/public_html/forum/admin/sources/base/core.php on line 1248

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/fpnadmin/public_html/forum/admin/applications/core/sources/classes/attach/class_attach.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/home/fpnadmin/public_html/forum/ips_kernel/') in /home/fpnadmin/public_html/forum/admin/sources/base/core.php on line 1248

The first time was going to FPN (I was already logged in), and clicking on 'View New Content'.

I logged out, and back in, thinking that I needed to refresh my logon since the upgrade.

Things looked good then, until I clicked on TMLee's homemade journal thread, where I received the same error.

Thank you for the work you all are doing, and I hope this error message helps, even if it is a pain in the butt.

Getting the same goofy messages here, perhaps the hackers are still at it?? See if you can find them and poke them with a fountain pen and give them ink poisoning!!

See my reply above. That is fixed now, has nothing to do with the hackers but us trying to close any potential loopholes. This was was tackled a little too aggressively by ourselves.

Looks good for me now. Great pickup, Wim! Did you notice that link I posted a couple pages back about this problem apparently hitting between 7,000 - 100,000 websites (Computerworld article), depending on which guy's opinion they asked.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
