Problem contacting Ujuku Pen Shop

Do they usually send a tracking number? I have the Paypal receipt. Is there a chance they don't know that I've paid? Do they check email regularly?

Any suggestions anyone?

I wouldn't worry just yet. I only ordered from Ujuku once so far, but they did not send a tracking number or shipment notification. I think the last I heard from them was when I received the emailed invoice. I simply waited for the pen to arrive, and it did, somewhat longer than one week later (allowing for a few days for my order to be processed and packaged, plus intervening weekend days, plus a few more days for shipment from Japan).

I made an order on the 7th, and had to wait for some stock to arrive. I didn't get a notification, but it shipped on the 13th and arrived on the 18th. I've made many orders with the Ujuku Shop, and though communications can be erratic, everything has been perfect otherwise.

EMS is used, so there are always tracking numbers if you ask - sometimes they just forget to email you the tracking info. They do check email regularly... don't stress. :)

Thanks, Phthalo. You set my mind at ease. I went to the Ujuku bulletin board this morning and Yamada-san had replied with the tracking number. Looks like they had to wait a week or so since I paid before they could send the pen to me. It left Osaka yesterday, so it should be here in a couple of days, I hope. So now I can go worry about something else.

Thanks, blueiris. I finally got a response from Yamada-san. I now know what to expect when I order from Ujuku: arrival of pen in a bit more than two weeks from time of order.

I think they don't carry FA nib and had to order from Pilot. An FA nib is not a common item and that might took Pilot a bit of extra time to send out. Once they get it that should get to the U.S. within a week or so. Also if you didn't get a tracking number, ask for it. I've noticed some Japanese online sellers (not only Ujuku) don't give it unless you ask.

May I ask again how do I contact him? I've placed an order on his website several days ago and haven't gotten an invoice yet.

Have you guys heard back from Yamada-san? I posted a message on their message board, and he said his most current e-mail address is ujuku@mxi.netwave.or.jp. He said he is having a lot of spams and he might be missing some of the legit e-mail among them.

Or, try their message board

Hey guys just thought I'd ask, does anybody know how to Reach Ujuku. I just bought and paid for a pen through paypal on eBay. I've emailed several times and no reply, it is now 3 days later and there is no indication of any shipment through ebays system. Any advice?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
