Well, you could've just called in an air strike, yes?

Nuke the site from orbit...it's the only way to be sure.

:roflmho: One day I will learn my lesson, and not read FPN posts in public. Luckily I was not sitting by myself, so only my friends think I'm a weirdo!

I believe that a Selenium Sulphide containing shampoo like Selsun will cause it to pass on to the great monster park in the sky...

Is this normal: I took out my Opera Master last night with Visconti Sepia in its belly. I had not used the Pen for two weeks. It took a bit to get the ink flowing. For about four lines the ink was black. I was doubting I put Sepia in it. Finally it turned Sepia.

Is this a normal occurance for inks. To start one colour and end another after some use? Is there a way to stop this?

This is pretty common; it's the result of evaporation concentrating the dye in the ink in feed. Some pens with a poor cap seal might exhibit this in a matter of two or three days; a few exceptional examples might take months to show this behavior, but any fountain pen will do it over some time frame.

Does not always write loving messages.

Does not always foot up columns correctly.

Does not always sign big checks.

Thanks. At least I feel normal now. I find most of the time I have to run the nib under water to get the ink to flow. This time it just seemed a little prolonged. It maybe a characteristic of V Sepia.

DRINK IT!

Do you think I'm mad? Wait, no, don't answer that.

Besides, it's a bit late. It escaped and is out there terrorising poor innocent fountain pens with its gelatinous radioactivity. What have I done...

Goodness me! The Blob has evolved into something that looks almost human. Nice job spotting it, Lisa!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
