What Does Your Handwriting Look Like

I thought there should be a topic where we post pictures of our handwriting and comment, so I decided to start one. This was a writing sample I posted here for someone about a cursive italic Parker 51 nib.

I'll post a pic of my writing as soon as one of your pens gets to me... as with some ink.

But to describe my hand writing... is sort of like a kid having a seizure... and the print is no better.

Or could be like a doctors... But when I slow down and try, I can make it look good.

Cuts can heal over, become scars and you'll keep living. Take it one step at a time, soon you'll wish you could take it slower.

I asked Richard to do it at the Philly Pen Show.

I've been meaning to make a new sample to post here, but haven't had taken the time. In the interim, here's one I posted a couple months ago:

Im glad this post is back. Previously you could always find samples of other users handwriting which is always very interesting. I recall that previously your handwriting was submitted for comments by others? Anyway, good to see it return. Will post a sample of mine later once Ive done a hundred lines to warm up.

In my case, I don't think I was so much looking for critique as wanting to hold up my end. I enjoy seeing others' handwriting and felt like I should reciprocate. Your comment about doing 100 lines to warm up makes me think I should do that same and submit another sample, however. :)

Here are some examples of mine. The first one was part of a draft of an article which has now been published. The second one was my 'doodling' while taking a break from writing the above article.

That's wonderful! It looks very elegant to me and with a lot of personality.

It also makes me want to round up an extra fine and see what my own writing would look like in a finer line.

First of all, this is a really great thread and I'm enjoying seeing everyone's writing.

My writing is a work in progress. Here's a sample of what it looks like when I'm not thinking about it:

And here's a hand with which I'm experimenting. I can't call it "my" handwriting yet:

The first sample is written with a Pelikan M205 F; the second with a Pelikan M400 EF. Both are unmodified factory nibs.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
