Dilemma of the day...

My favourite neighbour just came back from a trip

to Stockholm -- presently the only place in Europe where you

can buy Noodler's ink.

 

Yes, he bought two for me.

 

It is very easy to decide which pen to fill

with Noodler's Black (my trusty Parker 51, of course).

 

But where to put the Habanero? It is a somewhat strange

colour -- presumably because I was expecting something else.

I selected it from on-line colour samples, and on-line samples

are certainly not true. I expected an ink more orange-y or

warm-yellow-y. Having a high degree of translucency, it

(the colour) is very sensitive to how much is laid down.

A pen with a not-so-wet nib presumably is called for

here... Hm...

I would put it in an Pelikan M300 Orange with XF nib.

Well, not a bad guess... but no:

the Noodler Habanero now resides in a

Duke "Copper Temple".

 

I've used it all day, ticking off programming

lines...

 

Couldn't use a flexible nib, because then

the Habanero would be far too "burnt Sienna",

couldn't use too wet a nib either, for the same

reason.
