Sailor Evergreen

I just received my bottle of Sailor Evergreen. It's a great colour and it seems to have all the positive qualities of the Jentle line.

A quick comparison with two other fantastic unique green inks:

I like the looks of this one--is it generally available? Best source to buy it? How long will it be available? Sorry to bombard you with all these questions, but this is one ink I'd like to get before it disappears! Thanks!!

It's available from Japanese sellers, and I have no idea how long it will be around... It was released as one of four 'winter' colours in a Sailor seasonal ink limited offering, if I'm parsing the machine translated Japanese correctly. Perhaps we can look forward to 12 more new inks as the seasons roll around in the coming year?

I bought mine from engeika on eBay, but I've since been led to Rakuten (Japanese online market) by our intrepid fellow FPNers, and it seems there are better deals to be had there. My ink took a week to get here.

I may actually have forgotten to go to the second page... Now, buying in process. I want the drizzle with it as long as I can have the second shipped for the same $4 extra that a second bottle of the same ink would cost.

Danke, silexink.

I saw that - but not sure the colors are the same. The green looks chartreuse-like, not evergreen....

Yep, those are the ones - the green has the same characters as on my bottle. This green does have a yellow undertone, but it definitely isn't chartreuse (at least as I understand the term - kind of a bright electric limey/lemony green?).

It's the same bottle as mine too. It's the same color. If you need to compare it to something, it's very similar to MB British Racing Green. Like Ryan's scan shows, the Sailor doesn't have as much of the dark component, and there is more yellow than the MB has. I'm very pleased with it.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
