Love the One Blade.

They are coy about it, but does this also take standard double edge blades?

Nah you're limited to either the Feather SE blade it is designed for (which I personally rather like) - or you can de-spine the regular GEM SE blades and use those as well (I haven't personally tried that).

If you're looking for a new all stainless steel razor you might want to take a look at Rocnel :)

Rocnel is a solid stainless steel razor that takes DE blades snapped in half (super easy to do btw).

The cost? $25 :)

Some photos of mine:

And..to make it pen-relevant..here's me trying to draw it with a fountain pen:

Thanks for the info Darkbulb!

Like everything else I collect, razors are one of the vices. I have a lot of Merkurs, a Pil, Cobra, Feather and others. I also have a Kickstarter razor coming my way.

I will check into this ..

BTW, GREAT photos.

(I looked at the site, and they are out of stock-also funny that this model is $25 when their other model is $295).

Yeah this razor was made in an extremely cost efficient way.

I've spoken to Murat, the owner there, about it and the head (which often represents the vast majority of the cost) is all one piece so it became a two-piece razor which ended up being rather simply to machine. Their DE is a much more upscale offering.

Yeah they sold out on their site at the pre-order price of $25 BUT...in 2-3 weeks it will start selling from a third party store in Turkey (online as well of course). The price will be bumped to $35 which still, I think, is a rather awesome value.

I made a review of it over here if you want to read some more:

OP: Sorry for the de-railing.

Now, back to watches and pens! :)

I'm joining to strengthen the female line...

My old beloved and "battle" damaged Fossil ES2980, the strap changed to a purple Hirsh Princesse Catwalk, because I like purple better and not mentioned its not sensitive as the white strap.

And a bit newer one, also a Fossil:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
