Please post more Picts.

Love to see different collections of watches and pens.

I have actually never taken pictures of my collection. Perhaps I should start.

Will post some Picts after I have taken pictures

My name is Ian. I like shiny metal stuff. It does not make me a bad person. (my bank manager may differ on that statement)

Hello Ian,

The watch, bracelet and FPs are quite opulent. Only a 'demonstrator' is lacking :roflmho:

:ltcapd: well thats the first time 'opulent' has ever been applied to my stuff !! Vulgar, loud and ostentatious yes many times (do it on purpose you know) but opulent nope never. Oh and the 'demonstrator' you say I lack is out of camera shot which is Mrs Pen Nut going on about the cost of all my shinys

It looks like Mrs Pen Nut does't put to many restrictions on you ... I'll bet she is a collector of some sort her self?! Keep it going!

I wish you & yours a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2013.

First post, please forgive my iPhone photography...as you can see it was rather early in the morning....

I think I saw only one or two other 24h dials, so I felt inclined to quickly add to the list -

Sometimes it's funny how a modern classic and a vintage classic work so well together...

Some nice watches in this thread. My oh my. I saw a couple Pateks! I love those. Some very nice Cartier. Was there a Pasha that i missed too? Were there any Vacheron Constantin that I missed? I didn't go through all the pages, but some of you guys have impeccable tastes...and the assets to indulge them! Very nice thread!

Jade, we'll have to make sure you get to try a whole bunch then if you make it to the ITP Pen Posse meeting on Sunday! You'll have a much better idea of which pens you may want to pull the trigger on!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
