If there is a FPN edition I will buy one or two as well. I like the idea of engraving of Fountain Pen Network, Special Edition. :)

P.S. I'll also get 筆閣 edition as well. :roflmho:

Looks cool! Is the white text on black background that says "Twsbi" a slip of paper or part of the cap/section? Do you have a close up view of that?

  • 3 weeks later...

Your 1/20 update has some new molds. It sounds like your are fixing all of the problems you have found. Do you have any more re-tooled items you are waiting for?

The new packaging looks cool. I like how you are storing items underneath the logo area.

How close are you to going into production? I want to get one and am getting excited!

The last parts that need tooling modification is just done; I just saw the parts yesterday, tomorrow I will check with RD for the testing result.

Basically we are done on pen parts modification, now is waiting for tooling of new packaging box.

This week we will run a small batch of around 300 pen to confirm everything is ok, then the pen can be into mass production.

But I still need to finish the instruction book...., then packaging then ship to each internet store location; Taiwan, China, USA, Eurpue?

Please note that I myself don't give a damn about instruction manuals and fancy packaging (I don't think I'm alone here).

If you have some pens ready for beta-testing, I think you should simply propose them here. They would disappear in a eyeblink.

Beg your pardon, may be I got it wrong.

Physically shipping to local stores?

Are you saying you'll be able to ship locally (from Europe to Italy, just to make an example embarrassed_smile.gif)?

Sorry for screaming, but beware, I could kiss you for this...

I have a long tme friend in Germany who interested in selling this pen for me in Europe; from some internet store he will setup.

I am preparing 300 sets of final parts for first small batch run, if everything confirmed ok, then I will go into mass production of around 5,000 pens of first large scale run.

The first test of 2nd package upper/lower case will be performed in a few days...

The 1st package box we are also running some modification for easy ejection from tooling...

Actually many things are going everyday, being a responsible manufacturer we have to confirm everything (as much as we can) before we should ship out product to the customer.

The performance of last modification we done on nib filler adaptor is not as idea as we expect, so we still need to do more testing and maybe come out with another solution (not a difficult new solution, but just need a little more time).

Speedy, I really look forward to seeing your pen in the market, I think we will finally have a genuinely well made product at a reasonable cost. Do you have plans to market these pens in India? BTW are you making your nibs in Taiwan or are they being imported from Europe? I just saw the earlier posts where it is mentioned that the Nibs are from Schmidt.

Best,

Hari

In India, at the moment unfortunately I don't know anyone who can sell the pen for me.

The nib/filler are from Schmidt.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
