ethernautrix
Though I'd post a better pic of my favorite: Eversharp Coronet Whoa, that is one cool nib there, SJM. Also, the little detail at the base of the nib -- very nice! _________________etherX in To MiastoFleekair <--French accent.

Also, the little detail at the base of the nib -- very nice! It's even cooler to use--It's an adjustable flex stub making for lots of fun line variation when set to stiff, superflex or anything in beteween Ern. DAYoung
AltecGreen, what sort of light did you shoot that in? Damon Youngphilosopher & authorOUT NOW: The Art of Reading http://content.damonyoung.com.au/aor.jpg
AltecGreen
That was shot using just normal indoor lighting. In this case, it was a halogen torchiere aimed at the ceiling. The lamp was about three feet away. I bought a new camera the other day so I am making pictures to get used to the new set-up. The shot was taken at iso1600, f/11, 1/3 sec exposure using a Zeiss 100 mm f/2 Makro Planar lens on a Nikon D300s. I used +2/3 EV exposure boot. The camera was mounted on a tripod so I could use long exposures at the short working distance. I know you were part of the other thread started by Diplomat concering the G11/S90. I went the other way and went dSLR and macro lens. I won't be buying pens for a while. Where was Ethernautrix and the LA! LA! LA! chant to save me? 2020 San Francisco Pen Show August 28-30th, 2020Pullman Hotel San Francisco Bay223 Twin Dolphin DriveRedwood City Ca, 94065

Though I prefer natural light, I'd like a nice plain white light to shoot indoors with. On the tripod: I've a little handheld one somewhere. You just reminded me! (My old from one broke.) As for macro lenses, I'd like one for my Olympus E-510, but it's not something I can justify at the moment. We'll see how UK/US sales for my book go... L.! A.! L.! A.! and then I'm going to scoot over to John Mottishaw to inquire about a Nakaya... teehee! But that's it! THAT'S IT! Shhh... that's my secret plan. Also, seriously, very nice photo! We should do a Pen Posse Photo Shoot! _________________etherX in To MiastoFleekair <--French accent.

We should do a Pen Posse Photo Shoot! "For a while" means until LA. LA! LA! LA! LA! Between Bryant and the new camera, I must slow down pen acquisitions till LA. I haven't shown you my Ripple yet. I dropped a big chunk of change on a new camera kit going from my point and shoot to a Nikon D300s. It was the Zeiss lens that put me over the top. I did this to take better pictures of pens. It's funny how that works. I'll post some non-pen pictures in the random pictures thread in chatter. I just got back from a quick picture making session. We definitely need to do the Pen Posse Photo Shoot. We should organize a Pen Posse before the LA show. There are bunch of new people wanting to come. contaxrts2
Hi,great picture and wonderful equipment.Technically for sure one of the best combinations of dslr camera + macro lens available.I am a Carl Zeiss lens addicct since the 1980s, the old analog slr days, and now using the wonderful Zeiss lenses on consumer canon dslr together with some canon AF lenses, as I cannot afford the newest dslr and lenses anymore.Again congratulations and wishing fun with your equipment in the world of outstanding close ups.
